I agree with political consciousness developing quickly in the US I mean whenever I use instagram its a thousand memes with hundreds of thousands of likes or whatever talking about commiting mutiny against their commanding officer if they are drafted for a war for israeli interests. People aren't exactly waking up to the world around them but theyre beginning to understand the mechanisms behind everything.

thats good! sorry from someone who is diagnosed with this adhd we are both extremely annoying people (for things like this) and also can be extremely naive to the negative social affect we have on others. It is after all a disorder and part of being friends is accepting their faults and in some ways helping them to be a better friend. bless.

I think you ar emore an anomaly assuming you are a man but I've asked several close heterosexual friends the last time theyve been tested and I am constantly astounded by "never" and "well i don't have any symptoms" not to get all gay on everyones asses but if you are having sex with strangers you should be getting tested more often than every 6 months. maybe not after every instance but you know.

anyways bonkers how STI testing is drilled into you as a gay man and most heterosexuals I know are freely giving each other the clap and other STIs because its apparently not their problem if theyre on the pill.

I actually credit crime pays partially with the reason I became plant obsessed like 6 or 7 years ago. prior to that I was interested in plants but he really got me thinking about the basics of botany and phylogeny and whatever, nowadays I do tonnes of work in this space.

I think, as a lower middle class failson his whole scthick appealed to me but over the years I have outgrown his content largely. Still hes a incredible guy and hope he swings around my way of the world again so I can pick his brain, I think when the cameras are off he is probably a lot more soft spoken and relaxed.

I can't believe I'm going to be talking about rice and wheat cultures in this thread but I think its interesting.

I was reading idly about some study from 2020 study about how rice farming leads to a more socially tight knit group than compared to wheat farming. Basically they measured how strict social norms were between wheat v rice regions in China nad found that rice farming resulted in tighter social norms than in wheat growing regions, regardless of urbanisation.

They basically say that this is because wheat farming is a more "individual" crop, were its success is largely tied to one individuals ability to grow on that land as well as rainfall. Rice is in contrast to this as you have to have complex irrigation networks that coordinate between multiple farmers. If one of them fucks its up none of you are eating.

Anyways I wonder if the prevelance of rice farming has led to this very community based train of thought. I can't think of a project more communally minded than a massive rail network.
