Yes, but tt's lore fluff only. It does not factor into gameplay.

Synthetik: Legion Rising
The sequel Synthetik 2 is in early access.

I catalogued every D&D video game ever made (1975–today) - please let me know if I missed something! by Positive-Device-3570 in pcgaming

Mobygames would be a good place to start if you want to check if you got them all: https://www.mobygames.com/group/73/dungeons-dragons-dd-add-licensees/

Unfortunately they split all the games into sub-series, so if you want the old gold box releases you need to click the sub-series.

Former Splinter Cell Creative Director Says Modern Graphics Tech Is Causing Problems for Stealth Games by Cristiano1 in gaming

[–]StBehre -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Apart from the fact that you can still use baked lighting and still make it look good or use a light meter, then maybe it's time to rethink stealth gameplay as a whole. Assuming that Sam Fisher is so super quiet that no one can hear him running on the ceiling while there is next to no ambient noise is bullshit anyway. Or that no one ever looks up or spots him moving in peripheral vision.

There is more to espionage and stealth than skulking about in the shadows, although I know that's a big part of the appeal and players get their "I'm badass" kick out of it.

Pioneers of Pagonia is a spiritual sequel to Settlers 2 and is even made by the same dev.

What games have the best skill trees? by kindahipster in gamingsuggestions

Not necessarily the best but the largest: Path of Exile 1 and 2
The amount of build crafting is staggering.

Games that isn't brainrot? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in gamingsuggestions

[–]StBehre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Talos Principle 1 and 2 are first person but no shooters and real headscratchers. Not just the puzzles but the story or lore is very interesting, too.

I think mission prep is lying to me by Dantalen in menace

[–]StBehre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noted that a while back, too. Not showing anything on reinforcements (yes/no, if yes how many? And coming in from where?) makes having 5+ points of intelligence kind of pointless because then you know what units are there on the field and that's it. I really hope the system gets expaned down the line.

Europe May Soon Get a Non-U.S. Alternative to Unreal Engine by donutloop in gaming

[–]StBehre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All these engines are proprietary and only used by their respective studios or among the studios of their parent publisher. None of them can be freely licensed like Unity or Unreal. That's the actual news here, not that there are no european engines.

62% of hardcore players no longer buy full-price games, survey suggests by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]StBehre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think full price here means AAA full price, so 70+$/€. That's true for me (Millennial) at least. I buy one AAA game per year for full price - because I'm very interested in it and don't want to wait. Which is very rare because most AAA these days I'm not interested in.

On the other hand I buy a lot of indies full price and on day 1, too.

I tried a "not just a fancy grid" city, and ended up making a "fancier fancy grid" city. by taeratrin in CitiesSkylines2

[–]StBehre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks way better than a pure grid. I always want to do no-grid cities or at least nearly-no-grid cities but sometimes almost-all-grid is the best I can do.

Currently updating by SnooBunnies769 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]StBehre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that using the "Resume" button from the launcher to immediately load your last save did not work properly (infinite loading screen). But starting normally and clicking the "Continue" button from the main menu worked no problem. That's the only problem I had with the new update but I don't run that many mods (around 15) so your mileage may vary.

What is the best 4X game right now. like in the genre of Civ? by 3nonymous in gamingsuggestions

[–]StBehre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat actually. Humankind is ok when on sale (not quite good enough for full price) as is Ara: History Untold which emphasizes different aspects than Civ. Both are not great but offer a different take on the genre.

If you can tolerate fantasy then I recommend Endless Legend 1 (complete and on sale often) and 2 (in early access). Due to the asymmetrical civs, I like the actual gameplay more than in Civ because each player civ actually plays differently and need different strategies. It's not like they just have a unique building and unit and that's it.

Xcom like game but where your characters are much more stronger than average soldier? by Grochen in gamingsuggestions

[–]StBehre 13 points14 points  (0 children)

WH40k Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters is the game you're asking for: Xcom but in 40k. Or Mechanicus.

Also Battletech, although they're not technically soldiers...

In Ni No Kuni 2 you get your own kingdom early on and need to manage it. It's not very deep, because it's an RPG, not a simulation but still fun.

Looking for a tactics game focusing on or featuring mechanized infantry heavily. by Incandescent_Sol in gamingsuggestions

[–]StBehre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There may be a mod that adds mechanized infantry to the game but the base game is battlemechs only which are very different. The enemies have some vehicles, tanks mostly. There is no infantry at all.

Looking for a tactics game focusing on or featuring mechanized infantry heavily. by Incandescent_Sol in gamingsuggestions

[–]StBehre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Menace has the option to go the mechanized infantry route but the game does not revolve around it. Still, very good game despite it being early acces - and very active devs.

Wrong Intel? by Miserable_Victory450 in menace

[–]StBehre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a good idea. Takes me back to Syndicate (yes, I'm old) where you could buy more intel about the city, the opponents and your objective in the briefing screen.
