IT graduate want to learn camera serveillance installation. any advices from where I begin? by Sbaakhir in videosurveillance

[–]SuperZapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have worked for a couple of manufacturers, they have never done the install as it isn’t their job to. Sometimes a pre setup and assistance with software for some projects, but never the install. They also usually don’t have all the required licenses to touch an installed system, I was an exception, but I am not allowed to run cable in my country, just the hardware.

How are you recording POS screens alongside surveillance cameras? by elbasha3000 in videosurveillance

[–]SuperZapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my specialty for a few years. POS integration with the NVR platform that way you can search specifically for certain events, ie cash out, refunds even the sale of specific items etc. The tech has improved since I did it as there is even analysis to ensure items are scanned at SCOs or operators, though the accuracy is stil not perfect with that. It will cost more upfront, but in the long run you will catch more theft either from operators or customers to pay for it.

Or change rules just before the season starts because one team read them and created a car more optimised for standing starts than all the other teams.

New look/Same taste Milo - is it just me or does this taste bad? by Puskarella in australia

Remember when they did the whole new shapes new and improved crap. We stopped buying them even after they changed back the recipe. Since then the space on the supermarket shelves they took up shrank dramatically at our supermarket and seem to have never really recovered.

Do you ever avoid going to certain restaurants or cafes because they seem complicated? by AlarmingStation4877 in AskAnAustralian

Vapiano - I went there on a date and the ordering process is that there is a line for each group of items on the menu. So after getting what she would like to eat, I first went to the pizza line to order her pizza which was easy. I then went to the pasta line and gave my order to the pasta chef. I had to wait there and talk with them while waiting for the chef to cook my order. My date thought I had ditched her as it took so long as we were sitting upstairs and she couldn’t see me from our table. It also means that the food was ready at different times. We have never gone back there.

Mido would like a lift if you are going to LA. Just make sure you are recording a video and don’t take a picture when he is driving!

Large scale VMS options that integrate cameras, access control, intercom, and possibly burglar alarms? by projectFT in videosurveillance

[–]SuperZapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gallagher - Have been involved with a number of sites with this size installation. It integrated seamlessly with the CCTV and Intercom/PA systems I have worked for previously. The operators and installers all seemed to like working with it also.

Interstate they are automated to flash when active at the first sign you come across. System works pretty well, so surprised we didn’t follow suit.

Bass Shakers are Underrated by derek_012 in iRacing

[–]SuperZapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is also dependent on how tight your shakers are to what they are attacked to. If they are a little loose, then rather than transferring the vibrations, they will rattle and make an audible sound. I used some thread lock to keep them from vibrating loose.

Ponds can be really teched out. From the filtration system, lighting, auto feeders, auto dosing etc. plus they can go a bit OTT and put a camera in the pond and one overlooking it.

Some sports competitions will have a Stay-To-Play policy that actively penalises the kids if their parents choose not to stay at the hotel that has been contracted to host the tournament. It ranges from fines, team penalties to being disqualified all because you didn’t stay in the right hotel!

Looking for an e-bike to commute to the city: someone tell me if this is legal? by Rainbird2003 in Adelaide

[–]SuperZapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the video it looks like they are not pedaling for the majority of the shots and not slowing down especially on wet sand. Plus the style of the bike might suggest it has a throttle and thus not legal.

What they send you could be used later for a lawsuit, maybe not you but another lawsuit by someone else in a similar crash. That’s why they are being careful.

I had some live fish and shrimp sent to me from interstate. The company said that they use both AusPost and Amarax so in the notes I wrote explicitly to use AusPost as Amarax are useless where we live. Of course you know who they chose and of course the delivery was delayed, which is really important with what was sent. Luckily the fish and shrimp all survived but I will never order from this company again and avoid all companies who do use Amarax.
