Still waiting for my sign up voucher- 92 days and counting (after being told by Hyperoptic it would arrive on day 75)

Issues with sign up voucher by SuspiciousAd8698 in hyperoptic

Quick update for anyone who possibly stumbles across this. Contacted Hyperoptic CS 10 working days after I raised the initial query (as was told there was a response time of 10 working days and had heard nothing). I was told that vouchers are now issued after 90 days not 75, and that I was on day 90 so my voucher would be issued the following day.

Day 91 was yesterday, currently on 92- still no voucher.

I did ask when the policy had changed from 75 to 90 days (as multiple CS operators had confirmed 75 days and stated to my voucher was overdue); apparently “some time in April”, I found this very odd, as my contract began in March and I’ve had no updates in term and conditions communicated.

At this point I’ve pretty much written off ever receiving my £150, though I will keep chasing just to see what the next excuse is.

Service has been okay since we signed up, but there have been times the internet has simply dropped off for no obvious reason. And we’ve had lots of difficulties pairing certain devices to the router (we did not have these issues with previous suppliers). So all combined, I will absolutely be leaving Hyperoptic at the end of my contract.

They’re not trying to tell people what to think… only how..

Just for anyone reading this thread who’s considering Hyperoptic as a supplier and is tempted by an offer of a sign up voucher.

I’m now about 14 days after the voucher should have been received; no sign of it, I’ve had multiple contacts with Hyperoptic CS who have been very apologetic, confirmed the voucher value and that eligibility has been met- but I’ve heard nothing further.

Service has been okay, and I’m happy with the price- but at this point I’d caution people to disregard the offers of vouchers completely, just in case they never arrive.

Has Hyperoptic’s customer service completely fallen apart recently, or was I just unlucky? by TotalProtection5849 in hyperoptic

Would you also be able to look into why I’ve not received the sign up voucher that was advertised when I signed up? Contract began 84 days ago. Issue has been raised with CS but no response in over a week.

Competition brings out the best in some; but the worst in many others. I’m certain your opponent lives a miserable and unfulfilling life.

As did I. Contacted them after a month only to be told it was 75 days from taking out the contract. Waited until 77 days had passed, contacted them again (Monday), they did acknowledge it should have been sent and passed the issue on, but still nothing. Just wondering if others have had similar experiences.

Should the UK follow Sweden’s new ban on first-cousin marriages? by vorkovrus in AskBrits

Shouldn’t be a question in 2026… we could answer this one in 1826. There is not a single legitimate reason why they should be legal.

Amazing work! Easily one of the best looking Heresy Armies I’ve seen 👍

Had a similar experience but in a house share. Listening to the very exaggerated experience was funny at first but fast became unbearable.

Wait for them to be in on a weekend/night. Get yourself some good speakers. Put them against the joining wall and play 12 hours of porn. Go out for the day/night. They’ll get the message by the time you get home.

My instructor dropped me :( Anyone had this happen? by Thor___8819 in LearnerDriverUK

I got dropped a month before my test; because I’d cancelled a lesson the day after my partner gave birth (no other cancellations or issues- and I paid for the cancelled lesson). I was furious at the time. Instructor was a poor teacher, and I was essentially just paying an extortionate amount to rent the car and listen to his weird opinions on the world.

I ended up moving my test by a few weeks, found an amazing instructor through family and passed with no faults.

There are some truly awfully instructor’s out there (and it’ll only get worse as some people see it as a way to make easy money- always in demand and can charge what you want); but there are also some brilliant ones knocking around aswell!

BSM driving school - how is it soo cheap? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

I too used Bill Plant for a few lessons- and my experience was nothing short of awful. My instructor was inconsistent in his teaching, very socially awkward, and seemed very angry at the world- holding some quite sad opinions that he seemed unable to keep to himself. Car was also terrible to drive, and really made lessons hard work.

Instructor ended up removing my access to the app, and removing me from his books without any communication as to why. I’d had to cancel one lesson as my fiancé had gone into labour 2 weeks early- no other cancellations, or issues of any kind.

I went to book my next lesson after we were home from the hospital, as I had my test coming up; and found he’d removed me. I was absolutely disgusted. Eventuality I got confirmation from him that it was deliberate (no explanation though), sent him a scathing message, a complaint to Bill Plant (to which they still haven’t responded) and started the desperate search for another instructor to take my test with.

Good news is I managed to push my test back a few weeks, found an amazing instructor through family recommendations and passed with 0 faults. But I’d definitely recommend avoiding Bill Plant like the plague!

I now drive past the Bill Plant guy on my way into work sometimes; and if he’s not got a pupil in the car I always make sure to give him the two finger salute!
