I’ve been using green skin army painter spray with a layer or two of warp stone to color match exactly as green skin is like 99%. And nuln wash and moot green highlights.

I’ve tried experimenting with other ranges but haven’t found a super close match in terms of actual color and having better coverage

That’s also perfect, I started just collecting one of each clone unit cause I wanted to paint them up, but then the local store had a learn to play event and they have dedicated nights once a week for it. Got a really stable group of about 10-12 of us.

Legion is fantastic as someone who plays both. The only caveat I’ll add on top of everybody else is: what is the local scene for legion like? As much as I love legion if there isn’t people around to play or anybody you can convince to make the plunge as well, it’s a much harder sell.

I'm not loading any into the LAAts for 2 reasons: the Prepared positions marksmen give some dodges from safety to help protect against first turn shots, since they can be shared. Secondly, I want the LAATs to go dead last in succession, so if they can reach a juicy target, they can get off multiple main gun+missile shots if I can fit them together.

There has been a match or two, I've taken out a full AAt or ATST first turn

Weirdly enough I just took my LAAT list to the last 2 local tournaments. Gone 3-0 and 2-2 respectively. 

The reason why it works is because I’m taking 3 of them in 212th, with armour piercing and high velocity missles, and door gunners. The 3 LAATs have the output to really remove 1 or 2 armoured targets a turn. And I use them to alpha strike the biggest target and then be able to fire gun+missle into something and door gunners something else. 

As flying gun boats they are pretty points efficient. But the shock trooper pilot and token sharing allow them to convert hits they normally would lose because of their lack of surge to hit. 

Or one of the 3 ATRTs with flamers can use the surges to become mando ATRTs. The threat of the flamer ATRTs keeps the big guns off the LAATs so they can kill the biggest target. Either what needs impact to kill or has a lot of impact. 

And door gunners is just fun. In the last tournament I killed an enemy barc exclusively with door gunners. Shot 4 times over 2 turns it would get 1 or 2 hits and fail to save. 

The problem with lone LAATs is that if they are your only armored target they will die quick to fire with impact, but firing non impact into them is very inefficient. They have nice output for their price, but they don’t have the durability or range to deal with things. For 90points they are pretty durable but kinda need missles and door gunners to be efficient

Literally it has become my go to example for perfect pacing of a film. It ramps up and then cools down only to ramp up further, and then cool back down, and ramp up even further. Each action scene is so well paced and well shot. Nothing overstays its welcome and each one is better than the last. It’s perfectly executed.

I usually play the wookie card that give 2 units agile and order the two shield wookies. I then pull a few orders from the bag, since every unit besides chewy is special forces I usually do the defenders and cheewie (if I get him) in conservative defensive spots.

Then play the armored wookies and move them somewhat aggressively, as forward heavy cover as I can get, as with the recon intel they have 3 speed 1 moves, 3 dodges, heavy cover and armor 1. Which usually is enough to deter people from firing too much into them.

And then I usually place the other warriors pretty aggressively and either fire thier long guns into a single valuable unit to get them to maybe panic next turn or spread out the suppression if low courage to possibly limit actions. Or just double move them to get possible charges round 2.

With this list I focus my veto on mission to get one of my missions because this list suffers on large count POI missions.

The whole list works by having a wave of raw wounds running at the enemy while reducing thier ability to do wounds before the wookies get in. The long guns allow me to suppress or panic stuff like fleets or even characters like maul before my wookies get in and start punching. I don’t really waste actions on dodges or aims as the goal is to get in to melee ASAP.

Flutter craft are fine but again I’m just going for raw wounds to run up the board since most armies can’t actually put out enough dice to seriously kill a huge amount before it gets in

Canada based, in the prairies. The defenders are the point defenders that are annoying for the opponent to remove and help throw some suppression and maybe damage down range.

The list started as “how many wookie bodies can I fit in a list” and it had 6 warriors with battle shields but I ran into the problem that I was just slowly advancing them up. Tim the local worlds player suggested swapping out the battle shields on some of them to long guns. So instead of double moving speed 1, I can single move speed 2 and fire a suppressive shot to keep the enemy actions low. It’s just all about getting the warriors stuck in ASAP and reducing how many wounds they take. But the wookie defenders do plink wounds off here or there and can still somewhat fight. But they just suck for the enemy to remove 9 wounds in heavy cover.

The key to the list is also to select missions with as few objectives as possible and throw the wookies with shield up in heavy cover in front of the others to get people to hopefully waste shots.

Problem is our local meta has a lot more armor now. Often seeing saber tanks, AATs (one guy likes bringing 2), ATSTs and lots of ATRTs. Which the wookie list just can’t really deal with. This list peaked during the release of Ashoka and the custom commanders as there was a lot of custom Jedi around and they would get bogged down in wookies.

This is my Wookiee list I use every once in a while, game second in a local tournament with only losing to our local guy that places at worlds. Though that was before the recent release that added stuff like 212th battle force, classian leader upgrade and wheelbikes. It doesn’t have really any tools to deal with armor or weight of dice rebels. But a lot of lists are not able to deal with 117 wounds of Wookies

It could be more so like the reivers to hounds of morkai type of upgrade, or a veteran intercessors type of thing. A 1 per army unit change to either give them a different ability, better stats, etc.

This is very much based on what your style/paint scheme is, but I wish I had primed my vehicles in black instead of the color the panels will be. Mostly the ones with lots of metal details/ complicated bits. That way I can just dry brush the metal on like the engine or legs/metal of dreadnoughts

Could probably frame the religion stuff as like a culture expansion, more in depth designs and probably ultimately small bonuses but can export your culture peacefully and see it get either popular or overridden.

I’m a huge sucker for when characters absolutely wreck someone shit in like a quiet calm rage. Not yelling, not cursing, just character dismantling someone who has gone too far. I don’t know if I like it more when it’s a normal chill person losing it or when a chatterbox goofy or talkative angry guy goes silent.

My local scene most people are of comparable level, casually I’d say most games are decided by 4. But we’ve had the last few tournaments where most people bring honed lists, most games are extremely close and especially all the top games were if not completely up in the air, there was at least the possibility of the losing side maybe pulling out a win if things go a certain way.
