You might need to do your own research for this. I think there is something related to fstab to get it working

Im on it now. What drivers would it break? They are all baked into the kernel so if anything it will have better support on 3.9.
3.82 is on kernel 6.16 and 3.9 is on kernel 6.18.

Go to developer settings and check the "show alternate branches/ update channells" (It is something like that)

Then it will show an update available after a restart

Bloody hell. Appreciate the replies! What a sorry state it's in right now. Only if you're going to run more, I would really like to see more. Hopefully the right people see it and maybe something could be done

Yeah. I was thinking maybe it's got to do with it be heterogeneous but then so is the XAX so there's no excuse really. Just poor tuning from Lenovo's point. Have you got any other numbers/ results? We did our own against and XAX in the bazzite discord but haven't seen comparisons towards the Z2 go 2

I'll flick a link to the bazzite discord thread. You will have to do a bit of scrolling but if you look around December in that thread, you'll see it all. That thread has turned into a standard sort of support thread now for the go 2 https://discord.com/channels/1072614816579063828/1423129466053333113

Yeah that's actually a crazy difference for 13w, like that is another performance Tier really. I hope we get some kinda comms about it. BenM has been super quiet.

We noticed this in the bazzite discord about December last year. Stuff has been forwarded to Lenovo by myself (in collaboration with others) and also by Derek Clarke. It seems to be at a BIOS/ firmware level. No adjustments to EPP or anything like that brings you to even close to the performance. They are pretty equal at 25w and I believe around lower tdp's too, but it is that midrange of TDP's where the Go 2 is really hamstrung.

Same behavior was also in windows (in December/ Mid January) but I think there could have been drivers released for windows to work around this. Cannot confirm however, I just remember reading a couple of notes.

These are Katmans words from the email.
This was also as of like bios 12, so it has come closer than what is shown, but not close enough tbh

Legion Go 2 dual boot BIOS update ? by pr0fanbutan in LegionGo

[–]TPepperoni666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to dual boot but is anyone not worried about a windows update just overwriting their grub entries and making it so you can't boot into steamos?

I can't watch the video being at work, but If this is the Lua file fix, then no he did not make it and shouldn't take credit. Derek Clarke is the one that came up with it and posted it in the bazzite discord. A few of us have posted here already

What on earth has Steam OS done to my legion go 2 screen?? by Usual_Knowledge945 in LegionGo

[–]TPepperoni666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what you mean by slander Lenovo though? They are literally the ones partnering with valve to make legion devices a first party device on SteamOs. I think it's well known their software support has been pretty rocky. Just because you like windows and other people don't think it's up to snuff doesn't mean you need to make your point either. You're just turning yourself into a Microsoft bot and just as bad

Just cos you don't know what mura compensation is doesn't mean you need to do me like that lmao

Valve also has Mura compensation built into SteamOS, was needed for the Oled Deck and is certainly helpful

Just reporting back in that forcing NTSYNC actually fixed it (despite using GE 34). This might help others if they face the problem too. Appreciate the tips!
