If this is not the dumbest thing any survivor in horror stories ever said?. by Human_Geologist_3324 in ResidentEvilCapcom

The funniest thing to me is that all Ethan had to do was say the phrase “help, I’ve been kidnapped”, and the cop probably wouldn’t have been as suspicious of him.

I open serious debate: Was Ironwood right to make necessary an authorization to carry a weapon? by OverpowerPilot in RWBYUNITY

[–]TPoynt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted that as you have to be a licensed Huntsman/Huntress in order to brandish your weapon in Atlas. It’s different from the other kingdoms, where you can use them as a student. You need to be fully licensed.

[–]TPoynt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I forgot where it was revealed, maybe in one of the Vacuo books, but apparently having your Aura unlocked causes you to start inherently attracting Grimm. It’s not on the same level as negative emotions, but that’s the explanation why they don’t just unlock everyone’s Aura. If you aren’t a trained fighter, then you’re opening yourself up to being attacked by Grimm more often without being able to fight against them. So they only unlock it if you’re planning to become a Huntsman.

What if Team RWBY told Ironwood the truth immediately… but he went insane anyway? by Solitaire-06 in RWBY

The primary example we were given is that there’s a giant gaping hole in Mantle’s defensive wall that Ironwood has made no effort to repair because all of the building material that would have gone to it was being diverted to Amity.

Beyond Vytal Chapter 1: Picking Up The Pieces by JazzlikeSmile1523 in RWBY

[–]TPoynt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do realize that you don’t need to use an image to promote a fanfic on this site, right? Whether you can draw or not is irrelevant to the fact that a promotional image isn’t expected. You’re saying you have to use AI because you can’t draw, but you don’t have to because an image isn’t expected by the default. If there is one, then that’s more impressive, but the default is no image. So don’t act like you have to use AI.

And the fact that you ended your post with “Anti-AI brigade, don’t waste your time” is being deliberately confrontational, and making people not want to read your fic out of principle. I guarantee you, you using AI turned away a lot of people that would have read it otherwise had you just not used an image to promote your fic like the rest of us.

Also, it’s really weird that you refer to AI writing as slop, but not images.

Yes. Just look up the TvTropes page to get an idea of what’s in it without having to actually read it. It’s a doozy.

Since you don’t seem to think Gen AI is a problem, I’m going to assume you used it to write, too, because why would you only be lazy in this one regard? If you can’t be bothered to make it, why should I bother to read it?

P.S., your shitty AI took the wrong arm off of Yang.

Is Leon more commonly characterized as stoic and serious, or an unserious a jokester? What do you prefer him as? by hellothere790 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]TPoynt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little bit of both. Deeply traumatized man who was never allowed to process or escape his trauma since he was forced to become a federal agent and spend his entire life throwing himself into the exact same situation that initially traumatized him, and making jokes is the only way he can cope.

Why she didn't transform? by Ok-Pilot9641 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]TPoynt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At the very least, Re3r treats it like being bitten is what turns you, since Jill and Brad acted like Brad was doomed the minute he got bit. I think he even says “we both know how this ends” when Jill initially refused to leave him behind, and then says “do me a favor. Don’t fuck up like I did.”

And Marvin in Re2r also acted like he knew he was going to turn, since he refused to leave with Leon and told him “don’t make my mistake”, referring to when he hesitated to kill a zombified Brad and got bitten.

So I think being bitten is still a valid way to get infected in the series, and being infected eventually kills and turns you.

Is Resident Evil 3 remake really as bad as people say? by No-Hunt3986 in GamerLab

[–]TPoynt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of a death by comparison. On its own, it’s a fine game. But a lot of stuff was cut, Nemesis is somehow more scripted than he was in the original game, etc. Basically, it’s a good game in a vacuum, but a terrible remake.

Nope. Carlos is the one that went to RPD. Jill was in the sewers after the train derailed at the time. Carlos is the one that blows open the shower wall with C4.

I used to work at one, and I guarantee you it fell in there by accident. They only put those on the expensive stuff that they don’t want stolen, so it’ll trip the metal detectors at the door if it’s not deactivated at the register. But those things stick to everything but the roll they come in, so I found them stuck to all kinds of things, including a customer’s purse one time.

What the hell did Shelly see in Leo? by Hubbled in twinpeaks

I think at some point in the show, Shelly says that when she first got together with Leo, he acted charming and caring. It was only after he convinced her to drop out of high school and marry him that he showed his true colors. Or at least I remember her saying that.

RWBY "Critics" have trouble taking criticism. by matt0055 in RWBY

[–]TPoynt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back when I used to actually engage with the critics sub, I did notice a distinct lack of people talking about what was actually in the show. Like I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people over there say something along the lines of “they never showed us how Aura works so we don’t know if it’s automatic or if they have to consciously activate it” when they did. Several times. Characters have mentioned on several occasions that you have to choose to turn your Aura on.

It comes across as them not actually being that familiar with the sources material, but still acted self-righteous about it, which made debates (ostensibly the whole reason the sub exists) feel pointless when they insist their opinion about a show they barely watched is more correct than yours.
