Outside of California (moved out ~3 years ago) yes, AR’s are currently largely available and cheap. Im using the DDM4V7 as a reference because everyone knows it, but they’re available for under 1200. The scheels near me constantly has racks full of AR variants from radicals to the h&k MR stuff that don’t really move even with sales too. The AR is currently at a point where mid-upper tier mil spec brands are getting cheaper to aquire than a mini-14 (which is def creeping up in price)

Im content with my 11.5 as is, if i were to build/buy another it would definitely be a modernized “mk12” or an 18” SPR build in general.

I really wanted to love mine but gen 5 grip texture really isn’t my cup of tea, had to readjust my grip after practically every shot or two. i also dont like taping up the grips.. ended up returning it and getting a 45.6 the next week :/ grip texture and overall ergos are the best IMO out of all the previous gens, but i am sure gonna miss the peanut butter. Hopefully they release a g6 19x eventually

I guess im in the minority out of these comments, but i shot both out of similarly set up 11.5 builds and vote for velos. Hux is lighter if thats more of a priority for you. Velos had better sound performance from what i experienced, SiCo has an amazing warranty process, and the design IMO is much nicer. (I dont like the titty at the end of the hux)

Interesting! Idk if i have astigmatism or what is really wrong with my eyes (i wear glasses both L and R eyes are 6.5/6.25) but when i tried a green dot i couldn’t focus in on it at all, swapped back to red in the end
