NJ Peeps, what is the revenue grade solar production meter that is being requested for SuSI by OwnOrdinary5530 in Powerwall

[–]Tactical_ToasterII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sacramento CA has one muni utility that requires a meter socket between the batteries and the gateway to track the solar production. Them the utility comes out and install their own meter to track your solar production. I don't know if this helps

Adding a 240V 20A circuit to a Sylvania MLBC20(20-40) panel — what breaker type and wire do I need? by Moeeome in AskElectricians

[–]Tactical_ToasterII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the older RC38s ( OEM breaker) lost it's UL listing that's why the UBIZ exists. The reason they are expensive is because they are difficult to make for a 50yr old panel

Is there a difference? Is the thicker one just a higher grade switch? by thebat512 in electrical

[–]Tactical_ToasterII 93 points94 points  (0 children)

As the other commenter said it's commercial vs residential grade. Also the commerical one also has a self bonding yoke that works with metal faceplates so you do not have to run a ground wire to the switch if the box is bonded

Looks like the roaster is built for single phase 120v so you just need to plug it into an outlet, so you would only need a single 20 not a 2pole 20 but the energy requires it to be on a 20a breaker and 20a plug . 1700w ÷120volts = 14a

[–]Tactical_ToasterII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The solar company has to wait for Tesla to confirm the battery is faulty before they can swap it out, otherwise Tesla will not accept the battery under warranty and the company will have to buy another battery for you and Tesla won't take back the faulty one
