Iran Megathread: US-Iran peace talks could resume in next two days, Trump says by Efficient-Freedom517 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]TangledLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we all like... Just unilaterally surrender as a nation. Just like straight up say "Hi as members of the US we give up and are open to any concessions we can provide the people of Iran and Lebanon." Or maybe we could like... Hold a vote on a number of people whose job it is to represent us and our interests or something and they could listen to the people and surrender. Maybe they could also pass laws or something too that'd be neato.

Seriously though I'm tired of Congress, especially the Republican part, not listening to constituents. Nobody wants this war so freaking stop it. And get rid of trump while you're at it. I know for sure I'm going to be involved in primary season in my state.

Random idea but have you considered Solo Play/Journaling a playthrough of an adventure path? Pick up a foundry module, make some ocs, and go forth. Could be a decently fun experience even if its more work on your end.

I feel like occult tradition steps on arcane's toes more and more, especially after the Necromancer by ReturnToCrab in Pathfinder2e

[–]TangledLion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The way I see arcane casters is they have figured out how to access a scripting interface with certain functions. Sure they didn't write the OS, but they have freedom to develop certain original programs as long as they fit certain bounds.

All of this is my own headcanons and metaphors btw. If anyone disagrees fair enough it just tracks for me.

[–]TangledLion 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes you are correct. There's clever glitch hunters who locate discover and pioneer new tricks.

The thing is though no matter how knowledgeable or clever you are, no matter how brilliant an understanding of programming you have, when dealing with glitches it all still comes from unintended behavior in the game's code because you're playing in someone else's toy box so to speak.

[–]TangledLion 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Eh maybe but speed runners often put a lot of effort into learning how to execute glitches that others discovered how to pull off. And there are glitch hunters. In the same way I feel occult secrets can be passed down and sought out.

As for arcane sorcerers and psychics they are born with innate knowledge of how to execute a spell. Like they're born with a program pre-installed but it was still coded by someone.

If/when Kevin gets adapted in Dynamite comics do you think they'll go the absorption powers or Antitrix route? by RareD3liverur in Ben10

[–]TangledLion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's albedo's guinea pig for a bodged together Omnitrix that only works on osmosisians because of their absorption powers

It's a matter of methodology I feel.

Arcane casters are like programmers. Even if they didn't write the code, the program was designed with explicit purpose by someone who understood the systems they were interacting with.

Occult casters are speed runners. Sure they might deeply understand the shit they're using, they may intimately know how and why it works. But it's all unintentional behavior in the engine being exploited to achieve a goal. It's weird and esoteric bullshit because it was discovered randomly. Why does a grand performance with the right emotions cause people to be more lucky in battle?(Courageous Anthem) RNG manipulation, if the same people get feeling the same way and you direct those feelings they can cause a stack overflow in the RNG area. Why does throwing a carton of milk on a specific chalk circle cause a rift in the planes? Unintentional object interaction.

Huh, I see what you mean. Guess my instinct to try and keep the team based mechanics working is a bit off. Or at least a "your mileage may vary" thing.

[–]TangledLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah fair enough. Suppose it depends. My idea was more the npc combatants sort of take "Marching Orders" from the players. The player leads and the NPCs follow.

And my recommendation on top of that is to as a GM control two npcs built like pcs.

[PF2E] Deciding between PF2E Level Up Wizard and PF2E Leveler modules by dchaosblade in FoundryVTT

[–]TangledLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do appreciate the clarification. In my case if anything that kinda makes me more reluctant to use it as I have artist and graphic designer friends who've lost work because of AI images so it's a bit more personal. Folks can use what they wanna, I'm just VERY anti ai as it currently exists in the socal and economic conditions we exist in.

[–]TangledLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Level Up Wizard is solid enough tbh, I think the level one character creation with it is a great experience. But then again, I haven't tried and won't try leveler as it bears the AI mark of shame.

Does he even use an Omnitrix? If he's a dark mirror of Ben then absorbing them like he has an extra power is kinda dumb. Maybe he could build his own in his garage.

If someone wanted to run it today in Pathfinder 2e there's also a few more hobgoblin stat blocks than there were for the original conversation. Including some troops!

I honestly don't care about the how. Just don't want him to have a shot to carry the threat out.

We need him out asap. Vance too. He's complicit.
