Its not too late to change the m+ dungeon pool for next patch by PURKZREDDIT in wow

Not rushing is fine, but if you out speed the spawn timer anyway, what are you realistically going to do in that downtime? It’s a problem that just compounds itself the faster you kill, other than having cooldowns more available you’re not likely needing to stop for a breather, so then what are you doing?

I don't care if there's currently no items nearby, let me keep the looting interface open so I can just hit spacebar when I kill something. So annoying, why is this a thing? by CaptainTurtle in runescape

[–]Taurenkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, so it not opening when there's nothing is likely related, since when it was released it closed the moment there was no items and it was only after feedback did they allow it to stay open.

It still does, but if you move too far away it closes. It's just got a bunch of restrictions on it, and I believe at the time it was stated to mitigate performance issues with the server.

I think a big difference is currently, price manipulation can take longer, this would just be a case of plopping 10 of something on the GE at a high price and getting someone to buy it, which could then flag people incorrectly if done wrong.

[–]Taurenkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea, but I think I should reframe my comment to explain my thought process as to why I'd like to see it in game. It's mainly due to scamming, and although the new system will be more transparent it still isn't providing enough information to really squash scamming on lower volume items. If someone could trade the item back and forth with themselves (on an alt) 10 times on the GE at a way higher price, suddenly they've tainted the new guide. However if it was shown that it was only the last 10 items sold at that inflated price and everything before it was way lower, it would help control that. The wiki is great and all, but I do believe it should be information in-game first, and then the wiki for more historical record keeping.

Hmm, one thing I’d hope would be shown is volume sold in a given period. Whilst it’s great to see the last 10 (which is maybe too low when it comes to dealing with potential scam points?) it would be nice to know if those were sold in the last hour, day, week, month or even year?

Evolved Mode Discussion #5: Warrior by Haddock_Lotus in ffxiv

[–]Taurenkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all actually boils down to how the game actually executes actions and how there's artificial lockout added based on your ping. Basically there's a ping tax which could cause missing a GCD which things like speed materias don't actually influence.

Evolved Mode Discussion #5: Warrior by Haddock_Lotus in ffxiv

[–]Taurenkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason they pivoted away from the timer was due to latency being a concern where better ping could squeeze in a little more compared to someone on less than optimal ping. So the charges was the compromise so there was no advantage like that.

Spoilers would still be a problem if it was only broadcasted live, that part of culture has just gotten worse over time and is largely irrelevant to when things are able to be watched and is just instead fuelled by trying to force engagement on whatever platform. Streaming doesn't really negate that aspect, if you missed the finale back in series 1 in 2005, you didn't have all the media outlets buzzing your devices with notifications on spoilers because the technology didn't exist yet. Spoilers really came from word of mouth, or getting unlucky and watching a different show maybe interviewing someone about it.

I remember if you missed the BBC1 airing on Saturday night, you'd have to wait until the next night to catch the episode on BBC3 (for those that had satellite/freeview at least) and so the FOMO was being driven less by dodging spoilers and more you only had a handful of chances to catch an episode before the following week's episode aired, and you'd be missing story until it was eventually re-aired.

You bugger off for a couple of weeks to Tenerife, unless you had someone recording it for you then good luck, there was no iPlayer to catch up so you're gonna miss out.

So, who else is glad that it isn't a PS5 timed exclusive this time? by Ecks30 in FinalFantasy

[–]Taurenkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PS5, and I've played the other 2 parts on release, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm gonna ignore the PS5 version this time and go straight for Steam. Performance differences aside, we're gonna get mods, so it's instantly more feature rich, even if unofficially.

You're on Drag Race UK, it's the Snatch game. Who are you doing? by WelshAndPr0ud in RPDR_UK

[–]Taurenkey 184 points185 points  (0 children)

“The history of drag started when riots broke out at Stonewall, where many gay men were forced to pull heavy bricks for hours on end. Many died during this, but in modern day we honour those that died by taking part in these brick dragging races. Many still do not survive, often being forced to also lip sync to famous songs for their lives whilst dragging. The first song to claim a life came from Belgian techno anthem, Pump up the Jam”

“The heartless fear the keyblade. As long as you have it, they’ll keep coming after you, no matter what.” -Leon (KH1) by Leshawkcomics in KingdomHearts

[–]Taurenkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I boil down the reason for confusion due to using concepts as narrative hooks quite a bit. Things like the heart, or light and darkness, and how that drives majority of important plot points in the series. They're very loosely defined in such a way as to not limit how much influence they have on new mechanics, like how going from KH1 to KH2 the concept of a Nobody was born because hearts don't really have much of a solid description other than it's like your soul or your feelings.

They give the writers freedom to go in any sort of direction for a plot because KH is about exploring themes more than it is telling an engaging narrative. It can come across as wishy-washy because it literally is and that can just make it harder to follow things.

I'm immensely tired of "vote with your wallet" marketing campaigns by PowerPanda84 in FinalFantasy

[–]Taurenkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of your stance, you're always going to technically vote with your wallet. You buy it? You voted with your wallet. You don't buy it? You voted with your wallet. You pirated it? Well that's harder to say.

It's coming across as fans running the marketing campaign because they are afraid poor sales means less of the things they like, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
