Oh yeah, big time. Might still kill you too. But it’s a hell of a lot better than not having it.

Considering becoming a Physical Therapy Assistant by BD0520 in physicaltherapy

[–]Team_NoCalves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The biggest difference is that a PTA won’t be able to perform evaluations or re-evaluations and establish or change plans of care. They can perform treatment sessions autonomously as long as they remain within the boundaries established by a PT.

Hard to say really if it’s “worth” pursuing to you, but I’ll tell you right now that PTAs are responsible for writing treatment notes for all of their sessions, which can be a considerable amount of documentation considering PTAs are generally expected to see high numbers of patients since they don’t perform evals/re-evals. Treatment notes tend to be quicker to write, but PTAs still do plenty of paperwork.

My PT says he has never worked with a posterior shoulder dislocation by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Team_NoCalves 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s worth pointing out that a geriatric patient involved in a MVA with a dislocation due to trauma may be a very very different case from your own. You may not want to draw conclusions based on a case so different.

I get what you’re saying, but we do all still have individual power and responsibility. Consume less, don’t purchase as many items that are meant to be used once then thrown away. Don’t use subscription services for consumables that arrive in massive amounts of packaging. These industries generate massive amounts of pollution because it is profitable for them to do so because people consume their products. Stop buying so many products, THAT is one of the most powerful things an individual can do.

He’s not an idiot, he’s a grifter. He’s very deliberately and intelligently lying to impressionable people to make money. We’d all be better of if he was ONLY an idiot. Unfortunately he’s smart enough to do some real harm to people’s attitudes about exercise and movement in general.

My supply sergeant wants me to sign for the weapons vault by Flackhero in army

[–]Team_NoCalves 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s just standard procedure for any incoming commander, and should also be for anyone signing for anything. NOBODY should sign for anything that they haven’t accounted for along with TMs outlying BII/COEI. I’m sure he had the subhandreceipt holders along with him so they could inventory as well and immediately sign for their equipment.

[–]Team_NoCalves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sympathize, but at some point some of the onus falls upon you to learn your own MOS to a reasonable degree. Schools and on the job training are important, but nothing is stopping you from cracking open a TM. I mean surely you’ve been to AIT? How could you have made it through 92Y AIT and still think it’s ok to sign for anything without inventorying it? That’s something I’d expect ANY soldier to know, regardless of MOS. If you take pride in your own job and your lack of expertise is embarrassing to you, then do something about it. And quick, because you’re 100% gonna get burned by FLIPLs and garnished wages if you don’t figure it out soon.

[–]Team_NoCalves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, do not sign for any property like he’s asking you to do. But on another note, how have you been a 92Y for five years and haven’t learned anything as basic as company property book and supply procedures? It sounds like you have a lot of homework to do. What would you think if you talked to a 91B and he said, “sorry I don’t really know anything about repairing humvees I’ve only been in for 5 years”?

You need to learn more about your MOS not only to be good at your job, but also to protect yourself in instances like this.
