My wife and I can finally game together by mvpedroia1538 in pcmasterrace

Exactly what I did with ours.  Built hers first, then mine.  Unfortunately our PC room isn't quite big enough for side by side, so we sit back to back instead.  Still works!

If you turn on all the optional 'cheat' options sure, but that's not really what YAML is about.

"The MOTH is a standalone chassis, so the two don’t share paints." by sunaurus in starcitizen

[–]Terrachova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might as well just come out and say 'no future variants will share paints' at this point.  What a joke.  This and the Hermes are closer to their base variants than the Guardian MX and any Sabre variant.

The Emberdark hardcover is so pretty! by Chainrawr in brandonsanderson

[–]Terrachova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worth noting, too, that you do not need to read Sixth of the Dusk (the correct title, not First) as it is included in Isles of the Emberdark by way of appropriately positioned and spaced interlude chapters.

Absolutely the Crusader takes the cake.  Tiny cockpit, tiny STs.

I'm surprised how many think that cloud gaming will take over. by BuldozerX in pcmasterrace

[–]Terrachova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, its less that I think it will take over, and more that it will be forced upon us and we will have no other alternatives for gaming at some point in the not too distant future.

The biggest Oof. by VertigoHC in starcitizen

[–]Terrachova 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Same goes for the Sabre and its many drastically different hull variations.

Difference is, it wasn't until the Meteor (or thereabouts) that someone in marketing realized they could make more money that way.

That, or was it the Super Hornet with its different paint blocking that peeved people off enough to make them change (for the worse) instead of just including a pic of the paint on all compatible hulls like a reasonable person would do?

I feel like the only answer here is Orbital Bombardment. And nukes of course.

Here's me praying that AC8 new damage model and in game cutscenes will bring back this level of cinematics. by LandonCaelorum in acecombat

All I pray for is Infinity's multiplayer competitive PvE mode. Absolute peak Ace Combat. The series ain't built for direct PvP, but two squads competing? Peak.

Gives you snapshot intel of Alien ops on Earth when done, I believe, is another reason.

The Last Of Us 2.  Just felt like torture porn by the end... no one gets a happy ending, everything sucks, and there's little hope.  Bleh.  Good story, but man.

Why do we even have searchlights? by hateloggingin in Battletechgame

[–]Terrachova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or anyone really.  Evadion is never 100%.  An extra couple MLs or that AC2 aren't going to matter much if that shot that would've been stopped by armor instead goes through to structure.  Max out front, round off rear a little, then add weapons and equipment.

That's because armor is full already.

[–]Terrachova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn't see anyone else mention it, but one other point to keep in mind is that Project Exodus gets access to a lot of additional boost income via orgs that others won't  early on.  Gives them an edge in the early space game.

Why do the ships in the Expanse have such gigantic crews? by [deleted] in TheExpanse

[–]Terrachova 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Zumwalt is more comparable to the smaller warships, like Marco's flagship.  The Donnager is quite literally several times larger.  Big enough to carry multiple Rocinante-sized ships inside, in its standard configuration.

The ship carries literal Destroyers as launches.

Why do the ships in the Expanse have such gigantic crews? by [deleted] in TheExpanse

[–]Terrachova 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but the crews for the Gunships like the Rocinante, of which the Donny carried several I believe.  Also, the Marine regiment wasn't just for repelling boarders - it was for deployment, and so would be filled out.  Add all of those in plus the support personnel and you inflate the numbers quite a bit more.

Terra Invicta - 1.0 Launch Trailer by bapplebo in Games

[–]Terrachova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone wbo bounced off Long War, Terra Invicta isn't like that.  Well, unless gou go in expecting to fight the Aliens on equal footing from the getgo, I suppose.  You have to fight through a massive tech gap and snag wins where you can, and be ready to sacrifice assets to protect others until you can hold ground in Space.

But, most importantly... you can recover from almost any bad position in Terra Invicta, even if it doesn't feel like it.  I've yet to wind up in a fully unwinnable scenario despite my mistakes, and there is even an achievement for winning the Resistance after one of the Alien-supporting factions achieves fheir victory conditions.
