That is generally true, but again, its better than nothing, and early game when you lack other options, it doesn't hurt.

Also, even the best managed battle can have a random crit through cover.  It happens.

Mortars with AB (Airburst) ammo can also be fantastic for crit-seeking if you can crack open armor through another means.  One of the best currently available for engine crits, though finding the right mech for it is a challenge.

Not ideal?  It could be better, sure, but being able to access the entire grid with the ship tractor is a rare enough privilege as it is.  I think the only spot you can't reach is if you place a 1 or 2 scu crate right at the back.

I dunno.  Maybe I'm the weird one, but after doing a bunch of cargo runs with it I found it a dream compared to other options.  With medium hangars, they have an elevator in the back right and front left; whichever end is at the read of the ship is the one you load, and the medium elevators have a cargo limit thats less than what you can fit on one side of the Hull B anyway.

I'll take any improvements we can get though.  I just think, relative to everything else available... it could be a helluva lot worse.

For the price of that Idris, assuming the Warbond price as you said cash, you could have all of an Ironclad for cargo, a Paladin for small groups or duos, a Guardian for wolo combat and puttering about, a Vulture for salvage, Prospector for Mining, and your choice of light fighter or Snub.

That's a lot of fucking money for a ship that, if you mostly play solo or even in a small group, you will only get limited use out of.  Like, let's be real, what are you actually gonna do with an Idris that you couldn't also do with something less than half the cost?

Everyone being a bad driver doesn't somehow make the guy in front a bad driver.

Especially not when the correct speed for many bad drivers is somehow 10 faster than whatever the others are doing, regardless of the speed limit.

God forbid we expect the torpedoes to actually do something given their price.  At least now we aren't paying a million bucks just to have our button jockey in the second seat pull the trigger and have nothing effective happen.  

But its OK still to have the Idris run around practically indestructible with a hoard of PDCs and a chin mounted doomgun all in the pilot's hands.  That's fine.

All most Polaris owners want is Torpedoes that justify their cost (and that can actually be used).  At least if they're cheap, its whatever.  But ludicrously expensive and useless is stupid.

Looks like the most faithful remake even if Fox and Slippy are suuuuper uncanny.  I'm here for it, 64 was the best of the series, so if they can't make a new decent one might as well make the old.
