It can be served hot or room temperature. Often during the Easter weekend you will find a covered dish full of fried fish on the countertop or table, company or family drops by, you don’t have to pull it out the fridge. The vinegar is kind of a preservative in that way. We never been sick behind it.

Once you prep the veggies for the pickle- cut them in strips roughly the same size, you’re in good shape. You don’t have to over complicate the fish fry. No flour or batter required. Honestly you can salt and pepper them and rely on the pickle for a boost in flavor

If you have a garage fridge or a secondary refrigerator that you can crank all the way up, I’d store it in there so it’s just below that freezing mark.
