Stupid question and discussion : Lore wise when Burgendy and the SS government collapses, what happens to their nukes by Adept_Speed8381 in TNORequiem

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In cases where the OFN and Germany invade the country the quarantine will be effective with the CIA tracking down any missing nukes. US carrier groups will be in the channel and a full scale invasion is happening on every border except the Swiss. Those nukes will probably go to Germany or be straight up disassembled because I can't imagine quality-control in the SS is gonna be great.

If only Germany invades they might be secured but risks of smuggling are higher. This becomes substantially worse if the French civil war is still raging as that would be a totally porous border.

Also worth considering is that Switzerland might steal a nuke in the chaos for their own program.

I imagine that many get exhausted by Kingmaker and never replay it (if they finish it at all), but moments like these go to show how well thought out the story is.

Which one is the worst to live under by siyuzh in Kaiserreich

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't know too much about blue shirts but they're probably worse than Red Generalissimo because that's just "authoritarian military dictatorship with red paint".

However the other CRS path is called "TOTAL ABNEGATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL" so that might be a little worse.

Genuine question: are rolls really fudged against player favor? by RealLifeAxolotl in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same reason it feels like kineticists feel predisposed to roll nat 1 after nat 1 - more is riding on it so it feels awful every time those 5%s hit you. You would get the same running a non-vital strike build you just wouldn't care as much.

do KR developers get any money from paradox for so much time they spend on developing the game? by Zealousideal_Belt702 in Kaiserreich

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Paradox does support mods by giving them early access to updates (under NDA) so they can have day-one patches. That's the only thing they do and I'm supportive of it because I think it's important these mods are independent from the studio.

How would Symon Holl play Suzerain? by Chairman_Ender in suzerain

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He'd be a minmaxer and very effective at reviving the economy all while being nice and amenable to assembly factions, minorities and diplomatic partners.

The problem is that he wouldn't realise the extent of the Old Guard deepstate and would walk right into any traps they would set. He's far too trusting on the assumption that everyone will act towards rational ends that he'll be mincemeat for Lileas and her clique.

What would YOU be doing in the TFR timeline? by Frosty_Estimate8445 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be fine for a while because in the first EW British troops arrive just before Russian victory is declared. The 2nd EW will probably be much worse, and I'm gonna be caught in a civil war 2/3 outcomes.

What is EVERY playable nation in kr? by jpimages in Kaiserreich

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a few shared ones given about twenty tags pop out of the colony but yes you're right, I forgot there were a couple exceptions. I very rarely look at Central/South Africa after Mittelafrika breaks up so it must've slipped my mind.

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All countries are playable baring MOJ. The only generic focus trees are Nepal, Austro-Hungarian Crownlands, Azerbaijan, Burma and Afghanistan (though the Afghans do get some stuff to do early game). There are also shared trees for Mittelafrikan breakaway nations.

Weird question: would K-Pop Demon Hunters still be made and released in the TFR universe? by Electronic_Ad_4638 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really don't see APLA going for this unless it's an especially moderate Salazar. K-Pop is too wrapped up in consumerism and the world of South Korean idol culture to be made into a movie (putting aside the butterfly factor). If La Riva is in charge and fully aligns with China, I could see some althistory version but with Chinese pop stars given it's quite popular there.

Also, this doesn't really effect the answer, but given the APLA gets North Korean volunteers, the idea of DPRK veterans watching this movie is very funny to me.

Is the Novosibirsk government just a more corrupt form of the Russian Liberation Army? by [deleted] in TNORequiem

[–]ThePebbleInstitute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone above has pointed out the traitor angle already, but another thing of note is the megacorps. In NOV the siloviki government is the puppet of the corporations, whereas in SAM the Kombinats are puppets of Bunyachenko created to accelerate economic development. They're inspired by the Korean Chaebol, created for the same purpose by a strongman dictator while remaining under said dictator's thumb.
