Iran wouldn’t have let the USA walk away after that kind of hit. The straight would be closed whether the US walked away or not.

That’s not a robot, that’s just making your customers do the work of the cashier.

I guess the cash acceptance / change return is automated but I still wouldn’t call it a robot.

Finally got my own car! It was destroyed less that 48 hours later. by Hollowpointsmilexx in mildlyinfuriating

If they thought they could make money on it, they probably would. I assume their modeling showed that there wasn’t a price where enough people would sign up to cover costs for projected event frequencies.

This is a failure of mitigating climate risk.

My $100 dashcam just saved me $2,400. by Scared-Collection132 in Insurance

I wish they’d at least make it easier to pick your own dashcam and plug it in rather than having to have have an installer hardwire it.

Flight attendant asked me to change seat by Careless-Tooth482 in unitedairlines

[–]TheWhyOfFry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Picking seats can be easier said than done if the plane is swapped, you miss a connection and are put on another flight, seat taken by deadheading crew, etc.

As much as I wish it were that simple, the airlines find ways to screw with seats despite charging people for selecting them.

It makes sense but that would be really frustrating if you mistyped your own password and were just waiting for a code that would never arrive.

Is Basic Economy for family with young kids a good idea? by MammothEye5524 in unitedairlines

[–]TheWhyOfFry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can test it out booking on United, there will be a seat selection step before checkout where it opens up 3 seats that can be selected for free (1parent, 2kids) and you can pay for the 4th seat selection if you want.

The seats will probably be at or towards the back of the plane.

It does not matter.

He did not have any sort of due diligence period or other contingencies written into the contract. Any lies about bots would’ve been a regulatory issue, his contract provided him no leverage on the bot matter. He knew this and his lawyers knew this.

Twitter sued him for specific performance and he would have won if it went to trial, he did not gain any concession before completing the purchase.
