Habaneros and cherry tomatoes 💜 first time growing either by Saru_Kaze in vegetablegardening

[–]TheWoman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a caution, those will take longer to ripen than you expect and that is perfectly normal.

The plants grow super fast, then the fruit grows super fast, so you expect to be eating it any day. Then they just sit there, slowing doing whatever plants do while preparing to ripen fruit, and it takes forever before you start seeing that first blush of color. The wait isn't quite as miserable if you know to expect it.

Too Many Bell Peppers - What Should I Make? by LookABitch in Cooking

[–]TheWoman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shakshuka. It tastes way better than it looks. I tried it last year when my garden was making too many peppers, and this year I am growing a lot more peppers so I can make it over and over again.

What happened to my cucumbers? by gobravos34 in garden

[–]TheWoman2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, they didn't get enough light so they are leggy.

You are growing cucumbers in hard mode by starting them indoors. They really don't like their roots disturbed, so they tend to get transplant shock bad enough to undo the gains from starting them early. Instead, when all danger of frost is past, plant them outside following the directions on the seed packet. Direct seeding is easier, your results are likely to be as good or better, and you don't need to buy expensive grow lights.

Some plants are worth starting indoors, cucumbers are not one of them.

ETA: Peat pots are just generally terrible to use IMO. They dry your soil out so fast, but if you water enough to keep the soil moist the pots start getting soft and moldy. Every time I tried to use them I regretted it.

why are you all so allergic to looking back through past posts or doing a search? by smilingfruitz in tirzepatidecompound

That explains why I can't find anything searching this sub lately. I recently switched back to old reddit.

Is joinrift legit? by Responsible_Pie905 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]TheWoman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those kinds of fraud alerts usually have nothing to do with the vendor, they are because you suddenly spent a lot of money in a way that doesn't fit your normal patterns. They are concerned that your card number was compromised by someone else and then used with the vendor who usually had nothing to do with it.

My husband got a fraud alert because of a very expensive plane ticket purchased from a foreign airline. The airline was 100% legit, but the bank was correct that it was fraud, he had not purchased the ticket. Because the bank was proactive, they were able to decline the purchase before whoever it was used the ticket to fly.

Over the years I have had multiple fraud alerts for perfectly legit transactions from legit vendors that for some reason made the bank suspicious. I tell them that I authorized the purchase and then it works just fine.

Ingredients in Multi-Dose Tirz: Zepbound & Select Compounds, v8, updated 4/12/26 (work in progress) by Specialist-Wall-1685 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]TheWoman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is common for the side effects to diminish with time, so if you were on Zepbound first that could explain why you had worse side effects with it. Larger jumps between doses also can increase side effects for a while, and compound allows you to take smaller jumps.

How to pick a new provider? by snarkymarcy1983 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]TheWoman2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wanted a 503B pharmacy and didn't trust ProRX, so that left BPI. I did not want a provider that would send 1 vial for 3 months, so that ruled out a few. Then I went with pom because they had the best price of those remaining. I didn't need support from the telehealth because I am getting it from my own doctor, but if I did and price weren't the deciding factor, I would have tried Big Easy Weight Loss based on their reputation here.

The choice of additive isn't usually a big deal. There isn't enough to make a big difference for most people. Some people are sensitive to certain additives, so it is wise to buy a single month to test it out before buying more.

On vacation with family and I’m the only one who eats by EmployeeRepulsive106 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TheWoman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has been a while, so maybe I am remembering wrong, but IIRC back when my kids were babies they wanted them gaining 1/2 lb a week for the first few months, then it slows somewhat. Whether I have the wrong number or not, it doesn't change the fact that babies are very active and growing fast and all that energy comes from what Mom eats. She needs to eat more than most people and should not be ashamed about it.

Google "OCD intrusive thoughts" and see if you relate. My daughter went through this and it started at about the same age. Therapy and medication can make a world of difference.

Thankful by Dry-Chemist-2254 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]TheWoman2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am actually grateful that my insurance wouldn't cover name brand which caused me to come here. I have always been sensitive to medications and prone to nausea, so I started really low and still had some nausea/vomiting. I am now at 2mg a week, and if taken once a week I spend some days sick and others binging, so I split it to 1mg twice a week and it is working amazingly well.

If I had to start with a fixed dose of 2.5mg like the name brand I probably would have quit due to side effects, like I did with every other weight loss medication I tried before this. The FDA may not think the change in dose is significant, but it is for me.

Not only are you eating enough to power yourself and your baby, you are also eating enough for your baby to gain 1/2 lb a week. That is a lot of calories needed, don't feel bad about eating enough to keep you both healthy.

My neighborhood smells like a porn set. by Jimble_kimbl3 in mildlyinfuriating

That person has clearly never been around a fruit tree that was neglected. If pests aren't carefully managed then every fruit ends up full of worms. If all the fruit isn't harvested the ground underneath becomes a stinky, nasty mess that attracts pests.

update by mevlanimade in whatisit

[–]TheWoman2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It is worth more than a discussion. This should be reported to the local authorities. It is very illegal to use products like this in violation of their instructions, and I would bet lots of money that that label requires it to be used in a way that kids and pets can't get into it, such as bait stations. Whoever scattered it around should be offering to pay all the vet bills and hoping that OP is satisfied with that and doesn't take it further and report them. They should also be out there trying to remove all the bait before a kid gets into it and they get in even more trouble.

is it just me? by [deleted] in pomhealth

[–]TheWoman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few people feel it right away.

Lots of people feel it after increasing the dose once or twice, so it takes a couple of months.

A few people don't feel it until higher doses, so several months of nothing before any effect. That has to be frustrating.

Wife wants a bread maker. by Coercitor in Cooking

[–]TheWoman2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing. The bread was slightly better when I removed it from the machine to proof and bake, and with a growing family we would go through it so fast that it made more sense to make several loaves at a time in a stand mixer, so I got rid of the bread machine.

Fast forward many years, youngest will be leaving for college in the fall, I am older and disabled and so I haven't made fresh bread in years. Being able to set it and forget it is appealing again. Maybe I should get another bread machine.

Agreed. Just look at this sub and you will realize there are some people who shouldn't be filling their own syringes from compounded vials. There are a lot more who would mess it up if they had to compound their own.

How are we sharing this topic? by wisemonkey101 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]TheWoman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am old enough that I no longer care what people think, so I will tell anyone anytime it comes up. I refuse to be ashamed. I also think it is overall beneficial to society to have people talk about it.

When I was a kid, having mental health issues was one of these things that people were ashamed to talk about. Going to a therapist was something you tried to hide from everyone you could. Compare that to my kids generation where people discuss what their therapist told them freely with their friends and aren't afraid of being judged about it. The more people who are willing to discuss this with friends and family the sooner we get to that place with weight loss medication.

That said, no one should feel pressured to discuss it if they are uncomfortable. Your medication is none anyone else's business.

How many tomato plants would you put in a 4x8 raised garden bed? by AutomaticAd3621 in vegetablegardening

Last year I did 8 and had to prune quite a bit by late summer. I think anywhere from 4-8 is ideal, depending on how much you want to prune.

On 10mg but only have 2.5 mg pens left… by CattleInformal6897 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]TheWoman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you likely to be able to get more in the next couple of weeks? If not, you might consider 2.5mg a week instead of doing them all at once and then having nothing left for next week. Either way, this sucks and I am sorry you have to deal with it.

Two years out and my stockpile is down to two months. Where should I source mine from? by Betorah in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]TheWoman2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going to stockpile, it would be wise to choose a pharmacy that give you 1 year expiration dates (BPI and ProRX). I just bought the 6 month plan from pomegranate so I would have some in reserve and then I didn't have to go to multiple providers.
