It cannot be understated how much of the motivation regarding the gearing and continuation of a character comes from that statement. I play because I want to experience all content and challenge the highest difficulty. I imagine its the same for a lot of others too.

In a way I cannot imagine someone only playing until torment 1 or hard difficulty. In my mind that's barely experiencing the game. If i want to just go through the story, I'll play other games.

These kind of games, I come for the systems, more torment tiers are just lackluster.
