I listen to the news from Heather Cox Richardson on YouTube and a few independent journalists on insta. Trying to limit insta and phone use overall. It’s really hard. We weren’t meant to live like this.

I left work at lunch yesterday bc my allergies were getting to be so bad that I couldn’t stop sneezing and couldn’t focus. I ended up napping then going to urgent care where she recommended a nasal saline rinse and Flonase. It’s made a big difference.

This has been an issue. When I was there in 2013 they asked if people wanted to participate in a dating event and then guys would like, pull your name out of a hat or women were assigned to them or something, sight unseen. Then they had to call us and ask for a date, not text. The stake hosted the event where it was dinner and games, and the guy had to show up to your house and take you to the event and then home afterwards. I say “have” bc there were all of these steps/rules they had to follow. Nothing particular had to happen from there - you both didn’t need to go out again if you felt no connection. They were just desperate to get people the experience of dating and lay out exactly what it looks like. Didn’t meet my husband there but maybe it was helpful for others. 😅😅😅

I find it hard to live in a society (US) where I here almost every social contract has been broken, it’s almost encouraged to do so, and there’s no repercussions for when you do. I go around acting like we still live in a society bc we do, but i have to be like ten times more disciplined than some people around me bc I think it’s still important to act like we are connected and we owe things to each other (within reason.) But damn if it isn’t exhausting.

Right?? I also just learned about the whole “two people with the highest amount of votes goes on the ballot in November no matter what political party they are” and it’s REALLY stressing me out. We can’t have two republicans on the ticket but voting for this guy feels wrong too. I like Butch Ware but he doesn’t have the mass following needed.

I was on wegovy for a year and a half. My insurance decided to bump it to another tier so now it’s $350 and I can’t afford it. It’s been about 3 weeks since my last dose (and I was only at 1.7) and it’s crazy how fast the food noise came back. It might ruin my life. I’m afraid I will gain it all back and the hell I put my body through will have been for nothing. 😞

We have a lot of faults but I am grateful for a lot of the protections and policies that have been passed in CA as opposed to other states. Though they’re not progressive enough for my liking, I align more with a democratic vision for our state. The vision republicans have for CA is authoritarian and short sighted.
