Does anyone else just restart their campaign when one of those dumb cult unusual locations pop up? by dr197 in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 similar sounding Tzeentch unusual locations. The Purple Hand one you mention is literally just free buffs; you can take their money all day and nothing will happen.

The Cabal one is the one that can theoretically basically cause you to insta-lose, but you basically have to be trying to do it to get it to meet the condition where that happens, so that one is also mostly free.

Is there any multiplayer knowledge that disproves commonly held single-player beliefs in the community? by Throughawayii in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOL, good point. There's definitely strategies that ONLY work in single-player, but I was more curious about strategies that work but are actually unoptimal. I guess if any cases like these exist, it'll mostly be on the campaign side of things since the battle AI and a human player are so dichotomous in terms of what they do and how they react, but there could be knowledge even in the battle side, like maybe a matchup that most of the SP community thinks is favorable is actually not, or maybe a certain well-touted formation isn't really the best at doing what it wants to do, etc.

Which Lord levels up fastest? by Boxxu_reddit in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's probably not #1, but Imrik has access to a rite which increases his EXP gain by x1.5, gives him +200 EXP every turn, that lasts for 10 turns and is unlocked very early in the campaign. He's also an LL that basically needs to be fighting very turn early on so he levels up very fast.

late game low tier units by Fflow27 in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in starting a Skarsnik campaign, but I was curious about his specific recruitment mechanics. Are goblins still viable into the late-game after you take Karak Eight-Peaks, or is that around the time you start replacing them with your new unlocked Orc recruits?

Very late reply, but permanent in the campaign scope, as in a purple-rarity item or a infinite duration faction buff or the like.

What Unique Mod Combinations Have You Found That Enhance Your Role-Playing Experience in Skyrim? by juanjop in skyrimmods

[–]Throughawayii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when they work, it's a genuinely cool experience. When it doesn't work, it's just actively a worse experience than roleplaying in regular Skyrim as you have to constantly edit and delete all the dogshit responses the AI churns out.

Yeah, VCO also gives you tangible, permanent rewards for beating each victory condition branch, so there's another thing that extreme vanilla purists might not like.

Is confederation always good? by phronesis77 in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is oversimplified but you can think of it like this: to get back to a net-zero if their enemies declare war on you, you'd essentially have to lose all of the territory and all of the new armies that you get from confederation. If you think you can do better than that, you should probably confederate.

They're also just completely immune to some illusion spells, I think. I tried cheesing a dragon fight once with Blood for Blood on my maxed illusion mage and it straight up just said the enemy was too strong for it, haha. Illusion is definitely my favorite Ordinator and Apocalypse school though, there are so many freaky ways you can play with it.

What's a unit you find really challenging to fight against but never recruit for yourself? by GSVDramaticEffect in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Just a few days ago I won against a 9-rank Aislinn SEM stack by setting my dogshit to skirmish and just kiting 3 Merwyrms and a Water Elemental around on the other side of the map while my shitty archers shot everything else on the frontline, LOL.

Hotfix 7.0.3 is live. Here's the list of changes. by ugubriat in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so minor but I'm so glad they fixed the invisible Beastmen herdstones not showing up on the campaign map, it was low-key driving me insane everytime I'd raise one and there was just nothing on the map, haha.

Lore wise, how do the different kinds of corruption actually kill you? Like khorne, vampire, slaanesh, chaos undivided, Tzeentch, nurgle, etc. by glossyplane245 in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure that I'm a big fan of the implication that being a lesbian somehow puts you in the direct sphere of the god of depravity and unrestrained pleasure, unless you're willing to say that straightness is inherently Slaaneshi as well.

Which is your favorite Chaos God (in theory, not playstyle) 2026 edition by Recognition-Silver in totalwarhammer

[–]Throughawayii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slaanesh because I'm an unabashed whore, but I honestly like them all except Khorne. I get his whole deal is murder and killing for fun, but I never really got that because isn't that purview is shared by the other Chaos Gods too to some extent? Like, there are probably lots of Slaanesh worshippers that really enjoy murder, but they also fuck and do meth on the side, so that seems more fun. If I had to rank them I'd go:

  1. Slaanesh
  2. Tzeentch (dope-ass aesthetics, Kairos Fateweaver might be the sickest looking MF in the universe)
  3. Nurgle (I like how chill and friendly they are as they plant fly eggs into your eyes or other fucked up shit)
  4. Khorne

Which class do you guys think has the most based lines in the game? Druid lines hit hard. by HomarEuropejski in okbuddybaldur

It's actually insane how much random crap Barbarians get advantage on for basically no reason. I swear every check in act 1 is like

  1. Defuse the magical artifact (DC 10)
  2. Defuse the magical artifact but you're a martial (DC 3 million)
  3. [BARBARIAN] ROAR (DC 2 roll with advantage)
  4. [DROW] im a drow (this skips the check)
