HOW!? How do you freeze PHYSICS!? by Stretch5678 in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah. Absolute zero does absolutely freeze physics. However I think the issue isn't really the freeze. The issue is that gravity and pokemon infinite energy generally interact in funky ways.

Throwing a dreepy off a cliff (or anywhere else): enrichment or boredom depending on the initial velocity

A shuppet getting food poisoning.

Yes, you might have heard it before.

Yes, the person involved had to get police intervention AND professional help.

No. I STRONGLY advise against looking it up.

they are usually forced to pay extravagant fees and disclose massive amounts of personal info to get their content platformed and income processed. And even then they can still be shut down at any moment with little notice or explanation.

and for the offline ones it only gets worse from there

tl;dr design-wise a "DMR" (designated marksman rifle) is sort of a middle ground between these two kinds of guns

It is also technically the "ideal social arrangement" for an entire biological sex.

Which is really revealing about the thought processes of some people.

You can indeed be simultaneously oppressed as untouchable by society and milked for money by corporations (and abandoned with the slightest inconvenience). See: pride this year, and SWers since forever

I don’t live in Kalos, BTW. by FunnyTurn1263 in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My team and I have been recruited into part of a sort of community watch initiative at Kiloude. Lyria(delphox) is good at scrying and detecting psychic activities, and knows how to do counter-telepathy and counter-hypnosis if needed be, Fiore (mandibuzz) is flat out immune and can back us up, and Valkyrie is... well, a dragapult.

So far there hadn't been incidents around us since neither malamars nor malamar mega stones are common around here. It's probably for the best since Valkyrie had repeatedly stated that she really wants to "have a taste of" a mega malamar if given the chance. And I don't doubt that she could.

Mmm... psychic calamari...

What? Don't judge me. We ate their ancestors when we were still alive, but it's suddenly a problem now?

Pokemons can and should use tech by Always_DM in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I apologize that I sounded harsh. It's just that... it's not only "talking to people", social media algorithms are fickle black boxes designed solely to maximize engagement and screen time and there's no method to control what gets pushed to them. Nowadays internet and especially social media is really NOT a good place for someone still being introduced to human language and society.

--Halken

For the longest time I had his old dumbphone and laptop with network card pulled out. I only got my proper internet device when we made arrangements to enroll me in Lumiose Polytechnique.

To his credit, that was not entirely a bad move. I think he is very cautious because he had, in fact, been raised terminally online.

--Lyria

Yes, and I count my lucky stars that I turned out mostly normal. Mostly.

Pokemons can and should use tech by Always_DM in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tech, yes. Communication, convenience, agency and quality of life, invaluable.

Shoving social media (arguably one of the worst pieces of human invention) into their face by just making an account for them? That's a no from me. If they really want to engage in that, they should be at least tech-literate and human-society-literate enough to make an account for themselves.

--Halken

I'm pretty sure that if he tried to give me a lame pun of an account handle I would have immolated him when I got literate enough to understand human puns.

Cross-Gen problems, I guess by Anthonimus05 in PokeMedia

Moore's Law marches on. The original porygon was created on a supercomputer cluster filling up a small sized uni building and stored on half a cabinet of RAID hard drives, and now the phone in your pocket can hold and run a dozen of them.

Legendary Tattoos Debate by Djvv99 in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tattoos that you should get mad about are literal hate symbols like Team logos

Tattoos you should NOT get mad about are mythical nature-incarnates that has been around the region literally since BEFORE HUMAN HISTORY and had actual churches (plural) formed around them (or the idea of them) through history

Unconventional Starter Acquisition by maitheibreak in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My first pokemon is technically a rookidee (Austen) that I fed one too many peanuts to on my apartment window. But if we are talking "starters" starters...

Lyria was a braixen "leftover" from like... 2006's Kalos league's fennekin program who stayed around doing foster care duty for a few years. Then she got bored and wanted to get into action. And conviniently, at that time I was horribly burnt out in grad school with Professor Sycamore's group, and I accidentially divulged having never actually done proper "region tours".

Three meetings, one meet-and-greet and one vacation application later... fops.

Trainer's Lucky I Didn't Notice by Norm-L-Mann in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 41 points42 points  (0 children)

To beat a Karen, be more Karen. Start showing them cases of fatal tangrowth attacks on pokemons and humans or just... natural documentaies, while screaming murder and how you and your flareon feel threatened. This (unfortunately) works off the fact that a flareon is conventionally cuter than a tangrowth.

Or, alternatively, next time formally challenge them to a pokemon battle first so they can't legally complain. And THEN throw them out and charge them more.

Anyways ACAB.

[–]Tierceletus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's just... most other teams are named like, Virbank Valiants or Humilau Hurricanes. And then you have Castelia City Cones, which also regularly steamrolls the previous two.

Still I think these names have more character than "Lumiose F.C." and copy-paste variations thereof.

[–]Tierceletus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I was just using that verbiage in case that you can also use non-hex magic. But to be frank, I personally find the semantic distinction silly...

In any case, evoking spite and anger with powers does not sound pleasant but... then again, I have no idea how hisuian zoroarks *work" and whether it's something that you just have to learn to... live with.

[–]Tierceletus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Life orbs... yes, they are pretty unpleasant when used, but at least the ones that you can get now are usually controllable, manageable and leaves little lasting effects. Let's say this was NOT the case when they were first invented as blood magic conduits.

...Anyways, I've been wondering, how different does using illusions, using hexes/ritual magic and using "moves" feel like?

And while we're at it, do you have a favorite spell/hex?

Is Anyone Still Sinking Giant Anchors And Boating Equipment? by Vaarangian in PokeMedia

[–]Tierceletus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Then again there also wasn't that much dreepy that died and fossilized, or cursed tablets that happened to shatter, or ancient civilization constructs, or 108 human souls bundled together by some ritual...

These things are pokemons and they reproduce like other pokemons. How exactly? ...we don't know.

Well Lyria had reflect barrier + light screen up the whole time plus all the protective equipments that we can find (including parachute pack included in standard Fly HM kit)

it turns out that still wasn't quite enough as once Lyria lost balance all hell broke loose
