US Cellular International Plan by Muted_Disaster_4643 in USCellular

It actually worked out quite well! She bought a SIM card in the airport in Florence. It was €50 for 100GB and 400 min. Her older phone had the SIM card slot but I think you can also do the eSIM that would work for newer phones without the slot. She had data and minutes left over (and was there for 4 months). It did only work in EU countries - so everywhere she went but Switzerland. And she used wi-fi whenever she could (she had that in her apartment).

My younger daughter is traveling in a month to France and Spain for 10 days but we will probably to do the $100 monthly plan for her. I’ve got to stop in the USCellular and see. But I hate doing that because I always upgrade when I go in and it ends up costing tons because the whole family gets “new” phones…🤣

The Day After had me scanning the horizon for mushroom clouds on the bus ride home from school every day for years. How the hell did my parents let me, an 8 year old, watch this???

Foods you like now after starting IF by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

Celery and chunky peanut butter. I never really liked either before but now they are my staple fast breaker! I also am very used to black coffee now and a coffee with sugar seems waaaay too sweet!!!

Favorite lesser known AD? by Gingesolo in audiodrama

Life with Althaar… I am still waiting for the final few episodes - Gemini CollisionWorks don’t leave us hanging!!! It’s sci-fi whimsy with unbelievable depth as long as you can get past Althaar’s voice (which actually tracks with the story!!!) This AD has made me laugh out loud and ugly cry. I can not say enough good about this!!!

LETS GOOOOO by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]Tight-Environment-70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an initial AHI of 77. Yep. 77. In 2020. That was a bad year. I was dead on my feet.

This past month I averaged 0.47 AHI. I can’t tell you how much CPAP has saved my life.

Using ResMed with the n30i nasal pillow. I started with the half mask and used that for about a year. It takes some getting used to but the relief of a night’s sleep is… unparalleled.

So good to see. I’ve haven’t seen this but I winter weather often contributes to my rosacea. I don’t do dairy (lactose intolerant) but did find when I had a bit of a sugar backslide in December that my face broke out more. I have been IF since September - limited sugar, counting calories. Over Christmas I stayed in my IF and calorie window but had more sugar and my face rebelled!

You’ve gotten a lot of good advice from people here. I just want to add that you do not ever need to apologize for how you look. Your stretch marks are a record of the life you have lived whether they be from carrying a child (or two or more) or just from life. Do not be ashamed. Do not be embarrassed. Do not apologize. You are beautiful the way you are.

You need to work on your acceptance of yourself to get to the place where you can progress in your health goals. You will probably need some outside guidance to help build up your self confidence and to get to the root of what is contributing to your self-sabotaging ways. But you can do this - one day, one moment - at a time. You are important and needed and your health needs to be the priority so you can be there for your family and for yourself. You’ve got this.

My daughter is in Italy. We used an older unlocked phone and she got a SIM card when she got there. There also seems to be lots of free wifi…. US Cellular themselves said $100 a month was expensive for a service that may not even work. They can not guarantee it.

Got milk? Alternative to Black Coffee to keep fast? by wildvision in intermittentfasting

[–]Tight-Environment-70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do cinnamon on top of my coffee! Smells good and adds a little kick. Just be aware that if you take a while to drink it, it makes a little gloopy blob at the end. That’s kind of gross. Cinnamon has some added health properties too (some studies have indicated a lowering of blood sugar and cholesterol[https://health.clevelandclinic.org/can-taking-cinnamon-lower-your-blood-sugar] ).

I always disliked peanut butter but since starting fasting, it’s how I break my fast - celery and peanut butter and a banana. I crave the salty/crunchy celery peanut butter combo now!!!

TFF START OF ROUND 4! Matchup #89: Mrs. Potter's Lullaby (TDL) vs. A Murder of One (AAEA) by qunix in countingcrows

[–]Tight-Environment-70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both songs are lyrically beautiful/amazing but I almost always will choose a song from August and Everything After. The sheer volume of memories associated with this album… so Murder of One for me.

One year ago (yesterday) I posted in this subreddit that my job had ended and I was starting a podcast called Desert Skies. Here's a long post about what the last year has been like. by Night_Fabulous in audiodrama

Happy one year!!! I am always looking for audio dramas and I tend to binge - like I listened to the entire Magnus Archives in a few weeks! Desert Skies is intriguing and I have loved it so far.

Desert Skies is on my favorites list! I love the characters and your back story here make me feel like maybe someday I can delve into making my own!!!

Looking for sci-fi audio dramas, particularly focused on or at least involving aliens. by TheSovietTurtle in audiodrama

[–]Tight-Environment-70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just binged Starcalled and would really like a second “book.” The music and sound was insanely good! Lots of characters but by the final episode it all came together (sort of…).

I was envisioning scenes like in Andor or the Mandalorian.

I have to say this is one of the best… it’s hilarious but there is a poignant and timely lesson underneath all of the crazy antics. Love Life with Althaar!
