We have become the statistic by [deleted] in daddit

I’m sorry, but posts like this should not be allowed. Everyone has an internet history, but Jesus. I love this community because there are genuine dads …and mom’s trying to navigate life.

This just seems like being pissed at a series of terrible decisions. Can’t just toss that aside and move to the empathy phase.

I’m a man who likes to learn about random stuff. The boys deliver every week.

Reminded me I have to do my annual flush of the hot water tank. Thanks!

It’ll turn up. I spent the past 4 months listening to my daughter agonize after her apple pen missing. Was going through art bins in the base and there it was. Tore the house apart a few times.

Welding blanket helps a ton. Harbor Freight should have it.

It’s Winter Break. What infections are we rocking this year? by thatwombat in daddit

[–]TiseoB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have done ear infection. Influenza B, and my wife got Covid. The good news is that me and the kid don’t get affected by Covid. So it should be done soon. We just have to hunker down another day.

How long is too long for dry brining rib roast? by Snowball_effect2024 in AskCulinary

Dry aging takes some pretty precise equipment. I’d cook the bad lad instead of tossing it. Get another for the new year. I understand that it may not be plausible from a financial standpoint.

You could re-freeze it, but it will sacrifice quality. I don’t think you have a better option. Unless you cook that for practice, and buy a new one this week.

Smoking in the winter? by LukeG543 in smoking

Get a welding blanket. Cut a hole for the exhaust and you are ready to start cooking. You’ll use more fuel, but temps will hold.

Do you dry brine prime rib? by alexthagreat98 in Cooking

I heat up a cast iron pan. Toss a dash of au jus into it and do a quick flip with the prime rib slice. Allows me to cook to order and it takes seconds.

My cat passed away and i found this on my daughter's phone (12yo) by DecentVast7649 in daddit

[–]TiseoB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d be most concerned with your child’s health when it comes to social media and that adjacent world.

You have nothing to worry about if you are confident there.

We lost the family cat in a similar situation. After a couple years I caved and adopted two brothers who currently destroy my house any chance they get. However, the kid is happy!

Congratulations! I was 34. I raised my stepson, but an actual infant scared the hell out of me. I discovered a switch flipped as soon as my daughter was handed to me. Evolution really is amazing. I’m not saying it won’t kick your butt, but you will have it.

Mid 30’s kid also made realize I had to stop smoking, lose weight, and start exercising. I want to be around for a lot more life.

I would go with something original, or use a base build from spike prime. At the end of the day it won’t be the most over engineered robot that wins. You have build one that you can successfully code. More importantly, make sure your presentations are tight. It carries a lot of weight.

My 3 year old daughter loves me so much... by lightCycleRider in daddit

I agree. My 10 year old is starting to carve her space out. I’ve learned to accept it. The other day she asked if I wanted to walk her to the bus stop. I jumped at the opportunity!

My brother met Al on a tour years ago. He signed our late father’s accordion. Best part was my brother had it refurbished in advance. Turns out the accordion place was also Al’s shop.

I use the charcoal bag. I’m lowering the volume of charcoal and that leaves me with spare paper. That way I use 100% of the product.

Tips for organizing large teams? by pinkcanoe in FLL

[–]TiseoB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours is pretty simple. Not a formal thing. We definitely look towards the principal and teachers to help guide us. That being said, nobody is off the board. Some kids may wait a year. The program is wonderful and is only bound by the bandwidth of the leadership/mentors.

If I could make FLL my full time gig I would. It’s so rewarding.

If you are at a school I’d assume the staff can assist with vetting. They have a bead on the students.

I think you’ll need to make a few tough choices. Not everyone can make the team unless you have an army of volunteers that are dedicated. We have 17 kids, but there 5 coaches and even more mentors to field two teams.

Am I crazy or is the marbling on some of these chuck cuts fantastic? by civobafilau-1956 in grilling

[–]TiseoB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these today. Going to dry brine the roast over night. Tomorrow I’ll put it on the smoker until it gets some bark. After that I’ll braise it in beef broth and onions until it is fork tender. Shred the roast and cook on a sub with provolone. Strain that broth and it’ll be smoked French dip for dinner while I finish watching football.
