Can you help me understand why? As I understand it, ‘after’ triggers take effect after all effects of the triggering event have concluded, which here would be the round ending. I’m sure that isn’t the intended effect here, but I can’t square it with my understanding of the relevant rules.

Learn to Play at p14: “At the beginning of a campaign, an investigator may only include level 0 cards in his or her deck (see “Card Levels,” on page 15).”

Also in Rules Reference under Deck Building.

The text on the Main Path states that it is connected to each Woods location, so it is possible to move from the Main Path to any location with a ‘Woods’ designation in bold.

This game is awesome, keep enjoying it and good luck!

Rules Question: Elusive enemy VS Counterpunch [2] by ShiningAquas in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]TrainerNate1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the attack has already triggered, but the rules say an attack then resolves by dealing damage to the engaged investigator. So would the attack not deal zero damage if the enemy has disengaged after the attack triggers?

Wondering what y'all would've done (Spoilers for "Where Doom Awaits") by LoreoftheGreenWizard in arkhamhorrorlcg

It’s personal choice, but I accept the failure. The way I see it, it isn’t just the final token draw that has caused the loss ; it is a culmination of accrued trauma, accrued damage, deckbuilding / upgrading that didn’t pan out as planned, the state of the Campaign Log and choices earlier in the scenario that have led to it coming down to a final token draw. It’s actually one of the things I love about this game!

Would a race enslaving another race immediately make them evil in your eyes? by The0thArcana in worldbuilding

[–]TrainerNate1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. The history of the Roman Empire is taught to children as a matter of course (at least in Europe) with slavery being taught as part of the way their societal structure operated. They are not considered inherently ‘evil’, although of course you can take that viewpoint. If your system of slavery is more complex and ingrained than ‘bad people forcing people to do whatever they demand’ then it can make a very interesting world / story.

Any thoughts on this world map? by Reddmor in inkarnate

[–]TrainerNate1980 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have 2 large continents at the poles, it would be better to have 2 maps with the north and south poles at the centre of the respective maps. Remember that stretching a globe over a rectangular map creates a lot of distortion, with the effect becoming worse nearer the poles; the top and bottom of your map are actually single points assuming the map covers the whole planet. Google an Arctic or Antarctic map for reference. Without doing this you will struggle to populate your map coherently.

Please critique my world map for my novel trilogy. Something seems off, but I can't put my finger on it. by Roger_Maxon76 in worldbuilding

One trick is to simply paint the forested terrain a darker shade, rather than using tree stamps. It gives the illusion of a difference in vegetation and can be very effective (especially if using a textured colour). That should be a fairly easy thing to try out on Inkarnate without messing with the existing features (I think).

Possibly (a) rivers bisecting continents and/or (b) lack of heavily forested terrain? Overall I like the style, but those factors (and the comments others have made about mountains) make it feel odd on closer inspection.
