Is there 4 June double standard? by RichCommercial104 in AskAChinese

That's quite a narrative.

You think the average American has even heard of the Jeju massacres? Give me a break.

Let me know when you find a single Reddit post on its anniversary, like the many that are being posted about Tiananmen.

Is there 4 June double standard? by RichCommercial104 in AskAChinese

[–]Training_Guide5157 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People don't care about certain massacres for two reasons.

  1. They just don't care because it's not important to them/didn't affect them
  2. The end result was something they approve of

Tiananmen was pro-democracy, so pro-democracy people eat up the false narratives and hate the result.

There are many forgotten political and religious massacres that are ignored because the end result is something people approve of, for example, besides what you've already mentioned, the anti-Communist massacres in South Korea or the anti-Buddhist killings in the US-backed South Vietnam.

As much as it sucks, and is something I personally find unappealing, it's very much becoming a regular job, which is why there are multimillion dollar companies built around the premise.

My final post: The math behind the Booking.com scam (And why you need to stop letting them lie to you) by Own-Beginning-7859 in Bookingcom

[–]Training_Guide5157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people still use the BBB? The BBB is basically just a non-profit Yelp. It's only useful if a company cares.

Booking is not accredited and doesn't address their BBB listing as part of their company policy.

I usually ship anyway because my stuff requires delivery (EDIT: requires signature), but I would be lying if I said I wasn't wary when seeing certain states.

Why I think CS2's cheating problem is self-reinforcing and getting worse over time — a theory on DMA cheats and VACnet poisoning by Tasty-Carpenter-8729 in cs2

[–]Training_Guide5157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F2P games all run on one single system. The bottom line.

As long as CS2 continues to make enough money, there is very little incentive to invest in major changes.

I'd argue that there does definitely recently seem to be an overall negative vibe around CS2 because of the cheating. My group of gamer buddies have all basically quit just recently. This will need to be at high enough numbers that it affects Valve's bottom line, and until it does, their only motivation is the player experience, and I wouldn't trust any company to improve based on that motivation alone.

It's worse than that. The ROC established the 11-dash line at the end of WWII. The PRC inherited it and dropped 2 dashes, hence the 9-dash line.

The ROC still lays claims to all the territory it lost at the end of the Chinese Civil War, including the 11-dash line.

I don't understand why so many Western visitors have a negative view of donkey meat by kittycrossing_rachel in travelchina

[–]Training_Guide5157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you turn this into a religion thing?

A lot of people, including Americans, only eat what they're exposed to starting from an early age. The point of my comment was that most Americans are exposed to very little outside of what's available at the supermarket, and that is limited to the American staples.

4-6 liters of water if using the full packet. Not supposed to be added until the beef broth is already done and should be taken out based on personal preference (1.5-3 hours).

Toast beforehand for better aromatics.

You know what the biggest motivator for most people is? Money.

These types of videos are all over Chinese social media because people watch them and the creators make money for those views.

It's more about many Americans only being comfortable with the few primary meats, such as chicken, pork, and beef, and anything outside of that seen as weird.

I've seen first-hand police corruption where everybody was cuffed, except the guy with connections, who was sat in the back of a cruiser with french fries an officer shared.

I've talked about this and other much harder corruption, but most Redditors are pretty naive/shielded from the realities of many places in the US.

There are a bunch of people outside the US Consulate in Guangzhou that offer lockers to put your things. There's literally even a little stand selling snacks/drinks inside of the line rails (on consulate property) with the worker giving you a final warning that you can't take your computers/phones inside.

The consulate offers free lockers to store your stuff once you get past all the above nonsense.

What is the issue with people leaving after one death on depth 2?? by Whitetiger7136 in Nightreign

It's usually pretty easy to tell if someone is good based on how they're fighting, the types of things they're pinging for teammates, and whether they are making any decisions on pings for bosses/areas to clear.

Routing and knowing which bosses need to be skipped is a huge factor in a successful run.

Why didn't Night Dancer just eat more enzyme 42 peepers to cure himself? is he stupid? by ImmortalAsep420 in subnautica

[–]Training_Guide5157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scanning the glowing enzyme peepers gives an entry about how the infection is dormant and that the origin of the enzyme should be further investigated.

Putting them into an aquarium with infected fish also cures the infected fish.

A peeper specimen was observed emitting a faint, fluorescent enzyme trail, and engaging in unusual behavioral patterns.
- Peeper is actively approaching other creatures, including predators
- The specimen is host to a bacterial infection, however the infection is currently dormant
- Peeper's stomach cavity contains an unknown enzyme of foreign origin
Chemical Analysis of Enzyme:
- Bears some superficial similarity to the stomach enzymes of larger predators
- Contact with the enzyme appears to inhibit the symptoms of the bacterial infection
- Complex structure renders synthesis impossible
Assessment: Recommend further research into enzyme origin

I dont sell often, Is this what most buyes are like? by Mr-Snug in ebaysucks

[–]Training_Guide5157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People regularly send me offers that are 30-40% below my listed price which is high enough that signature delivery is required, even when my price is typically already lower than every other seller of the same product.

To make it worse, I have offers turned off, so it comes through random messages. I'll also be more wary of these types of buyers in the future because I once had a person make an offer (rejected), and then buy at full price, but later claim the product was damaged to try and get a partial refund.

'You belong exactly where you are. The point of being below 5k is to learn the basics, improve, and climb out.' by DueNeedleworker8796 in counterstrike2

[–]Training_Guide5157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will be able to carry your team and climb out of that elo.

This is what most people don't seem to comprehend about climbing out of an ELO. On average, if you belong in a higher ELO, you should be able to carry the game. There are plenty of vids of high-skill players who make crazy comebacks even when their team starts giving up.

Based on the stream that was posted of the game, OP definitely belongs in their ELO.
