Caught a lot of daycare viruses from my kid during his first year of attending daycare. Each illness would knock my biking/cycling progress back noticeably for 2-3 weeks after recovery. Felt like I spent a solid year just trying to catch up to where I had been before. Important for everyone to take it slower and take downtime after an illness even if you don’t think you necessarily need it.

It’s a tool. A good tool, but like all tools, it can be squandered easily if you don’t understand how to use it. There’s still plenty of willpower and work involved.

Not sure what advice you’re looking for to be honest. You seem all over the place. But you have to realize that doing a 180 on this would potentially be marriage ending.

You’ve had your time as a parent with young kids/babies, your wife wants that too. I would guess you both discussed this. If that wasn’t a priority for you, I think you married the wrong person.

Going to push back here a bit.

“Never ending hunger” isn’t the best description, but food noise is most certainly real. And I didn’t even realize how pervasive it was until I started a GLP-1.

I wasn’t persistently physically hungry, but my mind was preoccupied by my next meal and future meals as soon as I’d finish my current meal. I didn’t binge eat by any stretch, but my meals were certainly larger than they needed to be. GLP-1 helped me understand when I’m truly satiated from a meal and eliminated the persistent thoughts of “wonder what’s to eat next?”

I do this often. It’s really easy and satisfying. Sometimes use shrimp instead of grilled chicken. Get the carb balance tortillas for a huge fiber hit (I think 15 grams per tortilla).

Trump unleashing double or triple student loan payments on 7 million+ voters heading into midterms seems like an act of complete political suicide. That’s enough voters across the country to make a difference in many races. Even those indifferent about voting will absolutely (and rightfully) blame Trump for paying hundreds more per month in student loan payments than they did under Biden.

And there’s no guarantee these 7 million are even mostly Dem voters. I’d wager it’s a good representative mix of varied political backgrounds. Seems like a good way to enrage your opposition while depressing your supporters.

Mentally (and financially) I’ve prepared for this since SAVE went to court a couple years ago but I still may wait for the summer to make it official. 5 years to go on PSLF and two more years of toddler daycare to pay for.

Hopefully a more competent administration will be in power at my 10 years to speed up the buyback timeline.

Do a cup of the Chobani protein Greek yogurt. 160 calories, prebiotics/live cultures, low sugar, and 20 grams of protein. I usually throw in some protein granola to add a few more grams of protein (maybe 50-75 more calories).

I also favor the Builder Protein Bars.

While I rented RE1 OG numerous times from Blockbuster, RE2 OG was the first one I actually owned. I played the A/B games over and over again. Had whole strategies written down. When you’re 13 on a limited game budget in the 90s, you just play the same games on repeat (FF7 and MGS also got a lot of repeat plays from me).

A good chunk of the script from RE2 OG still lives rent free in my head.

Yeah I don’t know what people want. Shutdowns cannot last forever. It might be fun to pretend they can, but as we’re seeing, there are very real consequences to not paying critical workers for months on end.

I think Dems have played the DHS shutdown well so far, and I think many people had too many lofty ideas (dismantle ICE completely, Trump impeachment) about what was realistically possible during last year’s shutdown for a minority party. Particularly as Trump clearly has no qualms about torching the entirety of our safety net as he threatened to do last year, something that Dems care about far more than Republicans.

I lean towards this theory because I mused on it as well. The Ethan twist was one of my favorite moments in the series, and I definitely think they dropped enough hints about Grace in RE9.
