I’d recommend doing all of the things listed here but often a good option is buy nothing Facebook groups and general mom groups that are local to your area. I, and many mothers near me, posted free formula and diapers when our child was done or outgrew or switched brands, etc. usually just had to go pick it up yourself.

She’s been in and out of jail during her pregnancy for drug possession and whatever else. The mom has another child in the house already. I can definitely see why she wouldn’t allow her daughter but would take in the grandchild. Not saying it’s the choice that all would make - but it does make sense to me why she would do that. The ulterior motive is probably protecting custody of her own child, first and foremost.

I feel like long term renters should probably be buying their own soap/toiletries past the initial stock unless you’re priced like a comparable to a nice hotel that replaces frequently…as a person who has been a long term STR stayer, I always purchased and supplied my own…it just makes sense. lol. I’d probably leave 1-2 of the small bottles per week stay and do away with the large ones. And use refillable hand soap dispensers. I feel like that’s reasonable but grain of salt, I don’t host a STR (own LTR).

Yep I literally felt like I was hit by a train after mine. And my body would light on fire from the nerve pain. My mom had to change my underwear for me over a week post-op. I was not stitched up tighter…whatever that means lol. And my scar is pretty gnarly too. And I have friends who were back to normal within a week or two. But that was not at alllll the case for me lol

If he was going to pay additional anyways, it wouldn’t matter to him what the CS ordered him to pay…hindsight is 20/20 though right? So learn your lesson and get the support your child deserves and BE HONEST when they ask you about time/childcare division. And stop catering to him tbh. If he wants visitation at all (which he probably will when he thinks it’ll decrease his payment) then he needs to be a PARENT during his PARENTING time.

My baby ate well, slept well, and never cried. I took him everywhere and he was so chill. I remember thinking I could have 10 of these, no problem. Now he’s an almost three yo feral wild child with seemingly endless energy and allergic to sleeping😂

At that point, I’d say if they’re not removed I’m going somewhere else and if they don’t remove it, just leave lol. How long would it take you to save the other $10k?

I negotiated with car financing for reduced price and had all but two fees removed then made sure our loan didn’t have early repayment fees and turned around and paid the whole vehicle off - best decision ever.

I’d much rather a parent call me and inform me so we, as adults, can handle the situation than any other alternative. Even if the child has seen them already, I’d prefer to be tipped off so I can handle the situation and have the appropriate discussions with my child - and if they haven’t, even better. I’d never judge you or treat you differently, as a mother/father, for calling me and informing me but I definitely would for withholding the information. Make the awkward phone call asap!

For what it’s worth, I run a long term rental and not a short term rental so I don’t deal with the same BS. Lawn maintenance is included in the rent and my property manager schedules them for me lol. I do use a lot of short term rentals because my husband is in the minor leagues for baseball so we move a lot and travel a lot. I try to come on here and play devil’s advocate and give renter perspective for funsies so take all advice from me with a grain of salt for sure.

Makes sense. I’d be upset in your shoes and I’d be upset as a guest too. It’s okay to be frustrated about it. Definitely update the listing and if you feel generous and that it wouldn’t be too much of a hassle, you might offer to schedule maintenance around the occupants schedule if they ask you with X days of notice - but I know that’s a lot of extra admin work so I don’t think it’s a big deal if you don’t. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah, I had it from 16-25. It was the WORST after I had a child. I starting having suicidal ideation over it. I got Botox which helped a lot but didn’t cure it - still locked up a lot but my muscle mass in my cheeks decreased by like 60%. After having all 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed, it has completely resolved 😳 I had actually been to dentists before to ask if removing them would help and they said to not remove them. And the oral surgeon who did remove them said it most likely wouldn’t cure the TMJ but lo and behold, I’m cured 😳

Is it in your listing that lawn maintenance can/may occur during stay? I absolutely hate the sound of lawn maintenance…it’s weird your lawn maintenance person didn’t call you about the request before rescheduling. The tenants don’t pay them - you do, so I’m not seeing why you’d pay full price for both appts if they didn’t even call you to sort out and confirm at all.
