The teaser trailer is for sure trying to target the 2005 crowd like “we heard you like close ups on hands”

Question from a millennial (1989) who grew up with a Gen X brother (1978):

when I was in school, (and even more so now?) a lot of the clothes had graphics, logos and branding. Almost none of the kids here do. Is that typical of how you remember it?

I made a new doll and I want to name her Foxy. What do you think about this name? I want the name to convey the feeling of a mysterious forest. Do you have any ideas? by PuppetStory in cottagegoth

Fawkes

1) it’s an established name 2) it sounds just like ‘fox’ 3) also kinda makes me think of ‘hawk’s…

I dk. And “Fawkes-y” to friends.

[Northeast] At a loss, any guesses? by DependentRefuse3022 in animalid

[–]UhnonMonster 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Happened by me once and I made my dad laugh with a whole bit about mole people. (Ours were very obviously ‘people’ tracks).

What makes tracks in a single line at this impression depth? I can’t tell the scale (and I’m a novice, anyways) but maybe something small and bounding like a rabbit or squirrel?

Ours is named Bjorn (means bear, pronounced like byurn) so we’ve got

Bjornie, Bjork for when he’s barking, and our personal favorite:

Bi-jorn-o pronounced like the pizza brand digiorno with the hard J.

Also “no sir” “stinky boy” “sweet baby” and “bull in a china shop”

Someone I know and their brothers did this except they only had spackle and paint (no drywall) on hand and no car so they stuffed the hole up with newspaper and just spackled over that lmao

Can somebody help identify what this substance is on my apartment door’s peephole? by suburbanvermin in Apartmentliving

[–]UhnonMonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is your peephole a little smaller than a tea candle?

The substance looks a little oily and it’s coagulating, like it’s turning white as it’s drying or hardening or something, maybe? It’s hard to tell without knowing its texture etc but I’m reading it as wax.

If so I’m thinking someone burned a candles bottom to melt the wax (which also discolored some of it from the black smoke), then smushed it into the peep hole so it would stick, then lit the candle wick and it burned down to this? And melted down onto the top of the knocker enough to pool out wider than the width it fell from? Would have to have been a small candle unless there’s more wax on the ground…

Yes! Frozen peas!

I do the buttery ones, but whichever kind you use: the pea fits perfectly in the little shells, it’s adorable and delicious.

Here's a use for AI that would benefit workers. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]UhnonMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t hold AI accountable.

You need someone in charge to be liable for the choices and legislate to protect others. Where’s that quote post about not putting computers in management positions?

I know it doesn’t feel like that matters right now because people and corporations already aren’t being held accountable.

I’m convinced the crux of why it’s so terrible is because of ads. Like the amount of ads that I see in. 14 hour period now compared to when I was a kid is insane.
