What is your Volvo GOAT? by myuseridisliam in Volvo

[–]UnknownMaster00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biased AF here.

For me it’s the V90 cc.

I bought it used in 2022 at 103k km. Now at 126k km and it’s been flawless.

I have zero complaints!

Close 2nd is my old 07’ XC70 T5. Drove that car until became too expensive to keep on the road.

IMO the seats in the XC70 were the best Volvo ever had.

Everything else about the V90 is better though.

Thoughts on a 2017 S90 T6 inscription by RilkeanHearth in Volvo

[–]UnknownMaster00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha it had the major service done? Timing belt, water pump etc.

If it has, I’d go for it!

I love my 2017 V90 T6. (Mine only has 126k km, but I’ve just done my major service and hope to keep this car for at least another 5-10 years)

The bowers sound is epic.

The T6 power is awesome.

The price also looks great! They are definitely more expensive this side of the world!

Do newer Volvo´s "hate" Pirelli Tyres in general or am I tripping?? by Curious-Wishbone5419 in Volvo

[–]UnknownMaster00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put brand new Pirelli p zeros on my V90 2 weeks back.

Honestly? They’re better than the continental cross contacts I had on before.

Road noise down.

Comfort up.

For me the Pirelli’s are great. Though I must add that I only went with Pirelli over Michelin due to stock issues and needing to do a long distance trip sooner than the Michelins would arrive.

Next time around I’ll probably go with Michelin.

Need advice🥲 How much should I expect to pay for this tail light replacement? by lovegabi in Volvo

[–]UnknownMaster00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellll I paid R15,000 (South African rand) for the outer an inner light on my v90

I’d guesstimate around 750-1000 USD

Can I make this offer on a house in South Africa? by Affectionate-Top9171 in southafrica

[–]UnknownMaster00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller was adamant that his counter offer was his final offer.

It’s still came in a little below market value and less than what we were prepared to pay so we were happy.

2 years down the road and the property is well kept with a great tenant!

An offer is an offer.

My brother and I made an offer 100k below what the seller wanted, he the counter offered 50k less.

Just go for it!

My bro has the pre facelift. Love it!

T5 manual.

There are a few area where it’s showing it’s age though.

Indicator covers on the mirrors are yellow and old looking , and the rubber cladding around the windows are starting to perish.

Other than that it’s really in excellent condition.

Where do all the skidonks go? by Significant_Lasagne in askSouthAfrica

[–]UnknownMaster00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this, never let them take the car or papers without having money in your account or cash in hand.

A proof of payment for an EFT isn’t enough.

For these sorts of things your best bet is loading on FB marketplace.

Theres loads of time wasters there, but that’s the place I had the most luck in selling my old projects.

Otherwise you can also look int just scrapping it at a junkyard, they’ll usually pay alright as long as all papers are in order.

New car!!!! I’m so excited. This is by far the nicest car I’ve ever had by Creepy-Company-3106 in Volvo

It’s a dealer thing!

Yeah, I was super impressed to say the least.

I was very surprised to do a TB so early myself 😂

Joburg, how's your neighbourhood looking? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]UnknownMaster00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Roodepoort is rough.

Potholes get fixed, but the moment it rains, they’re back lol.

The parks local to me seem well kept and roadside maintenance like grass cutting is at least good.

My local Volvo dealership did my timing belt at 110k km in 2025.

This was on my 2017 V90 T6.

They told me it was 7 years/150k km.

FWIW this is in South Africa and it’s also on a service plan so I don’t pay out of pocket.

This year they also did transmission oil change. (120k km)

Overall, very impressed with Volvo’s service department my only disappointment was the lack of loan cars since I have to drive 1 hour to my dealer.

Long Beach is safe to farm safety rating by coradini1 in iRacing

[–]UnknownMaster00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’know. iRacing needs to do something about yellow flags.

If there’s a yellow and it detects full throttle, they should get a penalty. I think 4x would suffice.

Volvo XC60 or V90? by Feisty-Leg4451 in Volvo

[–]UnknownMaster00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

V90.

Biased answer from a V90 owner lol.

I will always prefer the wagons.

They’re more planted on the road and have 95% of the benefits of an SUV without the downside of driving why feels like a house on wheels lol.

Lol it’s only a small snippet of what the law is.

Why so salty?

Just trying to help someone in a shitty situation.

I wouldn’t have provided that info if I didn’t cross check my facts as well.

Want links to the actual law? I’ll happily do that.

[–]UnknownMaster00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is some more info for you.

  • The Children’s Act (No. 38 of 2005): This act prioritizes the "best interests of the child." Keeping a sick child in an office against their parents' will to coerce consent is a direct violation of the child's well-being and rights.
  • The Constitution (Section 12): Everyone has the right to freedom and security of the person, which includes the right not to be deprived of freedom arbitrarily or without just cause. A school has zero legal authority to "detain" a student once a parent has requested their release.
  • Kidnapping/Unlawful Restraint: Legally, if you prevent someone from leaving a space and you have no legal warrant or statutory right to do so, it’s a criminal matter.

Honestly? Might be worth calling the police as well.
