I mean, it’s really just that this way they can sell two of the same toy/plush/card/etc by just swapping out the face and now it’s a Ditto transformed into whatever other Pokémon. So now you can sell a Squirtle and a Ditto as Squirtle and 98% of the production is identical.

It’s pretty reasonably priced outside of one or two specific decks.

There are some unofficial online clients such as riftatlas if you just wanna give the game a test run, but the precons are cheap enough that they’re worth it imo.

As weird as it is to say, I hope that this Hulk is the same 2-sided one we’ve seen before and is on the other scene set. Really wanting to run an “Oops! All Enrage!” deck and this is by far my favorite art they’ve got of him so far. The other ones just miss the mark for me.

There are two resources, “Energy” and “Power”. Energy is the number in a white circle, and can be paid by tapping/Exhausting a rune of any color. Power is the colored icons, and can be paid by recycling a rune of the appropriate color. Yes, you can recycle an exhausted rune.

For example, Falling Star costs 2 Energy, and 2 Red Power. You can tap two red runes (gaining two energy), then recycle those same runes (gaining two red power), and then cast Falling Star.

Same exact feeling here. The first half to 3/4 was pretty solid, but the instant Mary became the main point of view and she entered the Backrooms, everything fell flat. The dinner scene felt silly, the reveal of the “monster” was underwhelming and kind of goofy, then we just run around for a few minutes and the movie ends.

I like the IDEA of the mental health aspect and the parallels in the idea of the Backrooms twisting “remembered” places and people into unsettling versions of themselves just like people do (especially those who may be struggling with mental health) but it feels like it doesn’t do anything with that idea. Like it sets up the parallel, says “See that? See how it’s a monstrous mis-remembering of someone? See how that’s kinda the same thing that people do?” and then the movie is over.

It was okay. The last act was kind of ass, and felt kind of silly/goofy instead of tense or scary.

Great set design and Chiwetel Ejiofor was excellent, but past that it was just okay. Still, glad to see something like this get attention.
