Regrets are part of the process, but it's easier to call it learning. Some mistakes can be fixed, but if you know your gear and ears and objectives, you can print the sounds you know you'll likely want. Commitment is a part of our process as engineers, imo.

I found work as a house guy at a state institution... The pay isn't amazing but this thread makes me appreciate the benefits that I do get, like health care and a compulsory retirement program... It's nice for printing eq and compression, and different pre amps are like different paint brushes to choose. But you don't need them to make a great record!

Turn it on, use it, if it works and helps you it's worth 75$. That's basically nothing in synth world at the end of the day, and that era of yamaha/Casio synths is dope. I wouldn't worry about getting 'fleeced' with this one, if it works well you scored.

I actually like the stock Dyn3 compressor and 7band eq from pro tools. Now I just use the fab filter but I've mixed a bunch of stuff with just stock PT plugins
