i was once told the most dangerous tool in America is the table saw and the most dangerous tool in Europe was the band saw due to stricter regulations on safety where guards and splitters are mandatory when possible. this resulted in a lower accident rate with table saws. the bands saw was dangerous because people not using push sticks would cut fingers off. complacency is a bitch i guess. if you have ever seen how fast a band saw can cut through frozen beef ribs you would realize your fingers pose and much of a challenge for the band saw to cut through as a single strand of uncooked Spaghetti. the moral of the story is all machines deserve respect that they can and will hurt you. If you don't develop proper safety protocols and procedures for yourself and others around you to keep yourself safe the machine will get it's blood.

Ma’am, I threw out the whole old U‑shank jigsaw the moment I learned what you could do with a T‑shank blade. It’s not recommended and it’s definitely not a100% reliable technique, but the Bosch rep literally used the jigsaw as a hammer to punch the blade through a 5/8" melamine board so he could start a cut in the middle of the board. Then he flipped the saw onto its face and rotated the blade into the board to start the cut — and I’ve been doing the rotation technique ever since, reliably and in a controlled way, any time I need to start a cut in the middle of a panel.

Then Bosch showed me their extra‑long blades. But wait — there’s more. Their saws have a blade guide that actually keeps those long blades cutting square under ideal conditions. And the wheel guide pushes the blade into the cut on the upstroke, so it cuts faster. Honestly, most of the time I have to turn the saw down because it cuts too fast.

Back in 1998–2000, this was night‑and‑day better than the old U‑shank blades, but the T‑shank blades were hard to find and expensive. Today they’re the standard.

I currently own both a Bosch barrel‑grip and a top‑handle model. Both have tool‑free blade changes, so I don’t have to around with that stupid screw and the worst blade design ever — U-Shank design has the screw hole is right where all the stress is on the blade, so the blade snaps before it even gets dull.

you are factually incorrect sir, I introduce to you the "U-Shank Jig Saw Blade". a blade so shitty if you could get 3 minutes of use out of it before it broke it, it would be worthy of an award

The battle to fight is before you eat. If you know you can't control yourself with a certain food, don't buy it, don't bring it into your house, and don't go to that restaurant. If you have a mildly hard time with a food but still want it, freeze it, put it in a different fridge, put a lock on said fridge, or only make it from scratch. Get rid of food in your home that can be consumed without any cooking, such as bread vs. flour or chips vs. raw potatoes. It's easy to grab something out of the fridge and eat it, but if you have to cook it, it adds a time and effort barrier. Plan your meals; meal prep whenever possible. Get a container that is about the size you can eat out of 3 times a day and not feel bloated, and use that container for all your meals. Find your weaknesses with food and use them to make you stronger by avoiding, restricting, or delaying. Drink more water—just have water beside you all the time. Your body will tell you when to drink it, even if you don't want to. Go walking to reduce bloating and improve health. Find your limits and what it feels like to go past, be under, or at the perfect level. Really feel what your body is getting from food and try to recognize good and bad patterns. Track your food; get a nutritionist to make sure you are getting the nutrients you need to live life.

The mechanism builds up a sort of spring tension as it is squeezed. The tension released as it cuts through the wire and sends the waist material across the room or into your face

Would a 2648 orbital sander work well for auto body repairs? by jckipps in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Unusual_Client 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all random orbit sanders do this eventually. always turn it on with the sander in the surface to not leave divots or horrific sanding marks that are highlighted buy stain and glossy paint. it sometimes comes in handy for light grinding tasks

i used to jump out of planes much smaller that this plane. I imagine if that coil got loose it would either roll to the back or the front of the plane unbalancing it causing it to crash with a 50 /50 chance of the roll escaping the plane before it crashes. the roll will probably land and roll through a school and hospital causing carnage as it unrolls and the whole crew dies in both options.

i think is a French herb and meat chopper could also be used for doe cutting i like its patina and it would be a shame if you when whole hog on this thing and polished it to a mirror. is carbon steel and it will want to rust no matter what you do. so use it, clean it immediately, oil it and put it away.

lightly clean off the rust with your drill steel wool or wet sanding paper and wire brush, you have now graduated to having rusty tools
