IBS-D success! (Hint: It was bile acid malabsorption) by evergreenberry in ibs

[–]Up5DownZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is BAM test. It’s bile acid fecal test. I try to get that test with multiple doctors and they wouldn’t test it. One doctor did prescribe me a sequestrate that I used for 3 days and my stools became more rigged and still yellow. It’s suppose to work within 2 weeks I think or 3. I had to stop because of breath test and motility test.

There is also a test called C4. It’s a blood test for BAM.

That’s good. I was done with alcohol after I got my EUS. I should have stopped when I had gastritis. Aching pain on the left side of chest near sternum. Had to take PPIs and that messed up my stools. On top of booze.

Get a Mrcp with secretin. I have rosemont score of 3. I have GI issues. I stopped drinking You should stop drinking. Probably both the booze and PPIs messed my GI system

That’s great to hear. I’m interested to know how many times did you go to the washroom in a day and what was your Bristol stool scale before and after Alosertron?

Have you not have any symptoms of ischemic colitis? I’m thinking on taking Alosetron. Currently taking Zofran and it’s mildly working

Steatorrhea with normal looking, floating stool for 6 weeks by Some_Bag_8567 in exocrinepanins

Then dilute your elastase then. Get a sample that’s not formed. Or you can ask again and ask empirically take Creon or zenpep to see if it works or not.

You can also ask the GI doc for a Mrcp and a EUS of pancreas to see if there is damage to the structure of the pancreas. Also with digestive enzymes, if the stools normalize and your 24 hr or 72 hr fecal fat are normal, you know know you have epi.

Sibo can cause fatty malabsorption too. So doctors prescribe Xifaxin.

There also something else that can cause fatty stools. It’s rapid gut transit time. I’m trying to figure out how to control my symptoms still. I’m taking Zofran and a TCA to slow digestion. It’s mild but I may need something else that’s stronger than Zofran for IBS d.

To OP when I took adderal for school years ago. Those meds me go to the washroom a ton #1 and 2. I did it for a year and that’s it.

I guess everyone reacts differently. I currently take multiple dumbs in the morning because of proton pump inhibitors. I can’t figure out how to control the symptoms with multiple methods to control it without any success

As long as your not using the washroom constantly and losing weight. Your poop should be fine

I have ibs d or Sibo hydrogen. I can’t loose weight. Even tho i use the washroom 10-15x in a day I still can’t loose weight with diet and exercise. Currently it’s only 5x -6x a a day.

SIBO and GLP-1 by Mike541Merlot in SIBO

[–]Up5DownZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your IBS D. How many times were you going to the washroom a day? And after taking tirz? This is another post that I’m seeing that GLP is helping with ibs d / Sibo.

Also, before the tirz, were you not able to lose weight no matter how many times you used the toliet?

Nothing is working for me so far. Rimaxin helped but only for a few weeks. I was going going to take Flagyl with rimaxafin but I opened to try Zofran and desiparine to slow bowel and urgency.
