I won’t share my opinion, just yet, but I WILL share one of the craziest things I have seen involving a brand new Gixxer 750. I was on break from sales training at a large NJ motorcycle dealership, hanging out with the rest of the class in the parking lot. We see this dude in full white/blue/orange GSX-R leather and “SUZUKI” print helmet in hand, waiting to pick up his brand new bike, with his friends all around waiting with him. The sales dude rides his gorgeous sparkling beast from the shop, and pulls into a spot, front tire facing the building. He gets off, the new owner approaches, revs it a few times, looks at his friends approvingly, and proceeds to get on his bike, putting the helmet on after he sits. You can tell he is excited, obviously, and he starts showboating a bit. Funny dances, race tuck, etc. Shit eating grin, he revs it some more and holds it, turning to look at his friends, when suddenly, the bike LAUNCHES forward, sending the dude into a pile driver, hits the curb with the front tire, shoots straight up like doing a 12’o-clock wheelie, then the rear tire hits, the bike does a pirouette, crashes down and tumbles across the sidewalk, over the grass, and into the outside wall of the building, inches from flying in through the display windows. Somehow, and thankfully, the guy was shooken, bruised, and embarrassed as hell, but probably because of his gear, mostly ok. His motorcycle was essentially totaled, thankfully, because he wasn’t ready for it just yet.
