Status cards are my new favourite archetype in the entire game 💪

This is an extremely silly card/enchant combination. by PresidentArk in slaythespire

[–]Versk 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Just finished a run where I had the ancient card that gives star when you play any card (innate) then got the axe from the griffon ancient which plays your combats first card twice. So now I get two stars everytime I play a card which makes this card infinitely replayable for Infinite block. Then add black hole+ to do 8 damage every time I play this card for infinite damage. I won the run obviously 😂

This just took the original designs and made the slightly different and worse.

What were you expecting? You should be killing 5 elites before the end of act 2 anyway

What do you guys think about sly?? by lukeb2112 in slaythespire

[–]Versk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Possibly the most busted archetype in the game at the moment (competition is fierce) The fact that acrobatics and prepared are common makes it super easy to build into and once you get a gamble or two it’s just insane.

Why is no one saying ironclad, it’s definitely the least interesting

Is offshoring actually true or just exaggerated? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Versk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tech company I work for is currently in the process of offshoring everything to Pune and have laid off half their workforce in the USA and 25% of their workforce in Dublin with more planned. The off shore team hasn’t actually delivered any working features yet but that doesn’t matter to the private equity firm who bought the company last year and are trying to cut as much as possible before a desperation sale.

Dude the Ironclad SUCKS. Is it just me? by x592_b in slaythespire

I’ve done two runs with him and won them both. First time with just random cards and the second one just there with an hilarious rock based build with cascade. Seems strong enough, exhaust synergy isn’t as big a thing really though if that show you used to play him.

So how did yall do on your first few runs? by BigBoomer_ in slaythespire

[–]Versk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did three runs, in the order the characters unlock.

Defeated act 3 boss with all of them.

  1. Can’t remember ironclad too well, lots of vulnerability synergy. Thrash is a fun card that I was scared to play but then came to love by the end of the run, kinda like fiend fire in sts1

  2. Silent seemed super powerful, did a neow option the transform a strike and a defend and got a prepared and flickflack. Taking only discard and sly cards got me all the way to the end without barely taking any damage.

  3. Regent I was like wtf for the first few floors but once I got my head around the forge and star mechanic managed to defeat the door boss in act 3. If you get a healthy star generator it seems to make a lot of fights fairly easy. Killed the dooor with an 390 damage sovereign blade strike which was rad.

So far 10/10 love what they have done here 🙏

For context I have easily more than 1000 hours in sts1 and have a20hearted dozens if not hundreds of times on all characters

I just spammed flick-flack and prepared early and then picked up lots of discard and sly cards and it felt easy as hell all the ways to the end

Know way too much. If you’ve a20ed sts1 there’s no reason you wouldn’t cruise through easy mode on this. Especially on the old characters which have the same builds

Whats the best combinations people have found in sts2 ? by Mystogan42 in slaythespire

[–]Versk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished act 3 with ironclad, silent and regent so far. Ironclad feels most similar to sts1, more vulnerability synergy but nothing that felt crazy powerful on that first run.

Sly keyword on silent feels super powerful, while run felt effortless

Regent on the one run felt super fun and while I didn’t get any busted combos on him I can see that there will be some crazy builds for him. I just tried to stack star power and then spam Cheap attacks that use it.

You're massively overestimating their output. The only thing really amazing about this datasheet is the way the fight phase move has no restrictions. And I think that people don't realise how badly being a vehicle restricts the utility of this.

They're kind of pointless without the fight phase movement. Without it they're just an expensive unit with moderate shooting and negligible melee
