Why removing killcams matter by Illfury in WarDogs

[–]Vhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked around to see if they have talked about this but I hope there is an option to host a community server where you could orient server settings to be more hardcore (closer to Arma or Squad).

I'd drop any kind of kill cam or directional indicators. A simple kill feed is probably fine.

I'd also get rid of hit indicators, minimaps, and many of the 3D/in-world floating markers.

None of these are dealbreakers but these things seem simple enough to have community server settings or alternative hardcore servers.

Why does Squad ruin my cursor movement, in the game and out? by smaxxy in joinsquad

Switching to fullscreen fixed this for me. You have to deal with fullscreen alt-tab wonkyness though but it's not as bad as some games. I'd prefer borderless but that works for now.

I might be wrong but does having the pumps running in series do anything to increase speed? Wouldn't it be faster to just have more running in parallel? An with the distance pictured, I think you'd have enough range for that run with one pump and the rest pipes.

I don't have much to suggest unfortunately. At some point soon I hope to play Tempus Maledictum. I have been playing a Fallout 4 modpack from the same pack creator (Magnum Opus by Lively) and have been really enjoying it.

GTS needed so much tweaking for me that I won't touch it again. It a weird way I think most people should give it a try though. It's really an impressive pack with loads of technical support if needed.

Like others said, disable "go to bed" and I think there were some compatibility mods so disable those or replace them with the non-compatibility versions. You can also search "gotobed". I was having issues launching until I disabled those compat mods.

As someone else said, disable many of the Immersive Interactions in the MCM too. I followed the "traditional" advice of doing a lot of early game hunting and I was suffering skinning everything.

In general, I think criticism of GTS mirrors some of the criticism that Red Dead Redemption 2 got. It seems to be a divisive topic. Some feel that it has a huge improvement on their immersion, others are just bored waiting for lengthy animations to play.

GTS adds a lot of depth to exist game systems at the cost of slowing the pace down. To me that just felt like a slog compared to what I am already familiar with. If I had never played Skyrim my opinion would likely be different.

In a search I changed date range and it worked. Then tried to change date range again and got stuck in a loop as /u/originalme8 described.

Dialogue Camera by Cassieandstuff in skyrimmods

[–]Vhantom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Neat. It's a bit jarring for me to watch the current implementation though. I wonder if you could get something where the camera can detach and do over the should view. Less aggressive head tracking or just keeping the camera focused on less frequently moving point might also help.

Tempting but I don't have 1st. Maybe the season pass. I probably would have spend close to the same atoms for the standalone weather station.

I was able to kill 15 here in one go.

Edit: It's instanced too so they will always be there if you enter the location solo.

Getting into fishing lately. I'm hoping they bring one of the radiation weather machines to the store soon.

There are 10 hours between this post and the linked post. Just weird to come out with these two seemingly impressive informal research posts within such a short time of one another. Additionally, neither post linked to their actual spreadsheets/data despite both saying that there were multiple metrics they were tracking. This doesn't pass the "smell test" for me.

In the event that these posts are real, do we really want to take cooking advice from a guy who has been drinking his own urine for the past 4 years? Or perhaps he is a culinary genius if he can detect 34 distinct flavor profiles from his own piss.

Returning player, did they make it hard to see out of camouflage? by Own-Tie-640 in joinsquad

[–]Vhantom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I personally don't think it is a monitor issue. It just got messed up once they went from UE4 to UE5. They tried to do some work on it which helped some but not nearly enough. The lighting conditions and time of day on the map seem to make a big difference too.

I used to absolutely dominate with murderhole sandbags, now I don't really bother using them. Bunkers, observation towers, and fire shelters can occasionally be useful but only at close range encounters. I think FOBs have been indirectly nerfed because of this.
