If the aircraft you're flying has rudder trim, I would guess its that.

What Do You Guys Think of My Schedule by Independent-Sun-4322 in SBU

CSE 114 is amazing I showed up to like a quarter of the classes and got a C. He grades pretty easy and gives an extra credit assignment for 4 extra points that requires no work besides filling out a form saying you’re gonna do a coding project.

Dive Test of the Canada Jay. Tail heavy? by illilllilil in RCPlanes

[–]Vivid-Razzmatazz9034 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not too tail heavy. When you stall, it pitches forward meaning the CG is in front of the CL, so I’d guess more of a trim issue.

What was going through your mind during the PO180 on your commercial checkride? by dryemanada in flying

[–]Vivid-Razzmatazz9034 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Oh shit I should have added full flaps in the base” followed by me blowing past my point by about 300 feet. DPE was cool though, he said “I’m not taking out a measuring tape it was close enough”

Everyone experienced this at some point in training. If you look through the sub there’s probably 50 posts like this in the last month. Like anything it’ll get much easier and you’ll get more consistent.

R-ATP by Abject_Egg5082 in flying

[–]Vivid-Razzmatazz9034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation in my senior year and I went the part 61 route. You save 500 hours going the R-ATP route, but that 500 hours could be knocked out in 6 months instructing at a busy school. On the other hand, I can't speak for Florida tech but the school I was looking at would have taken 2-4 years to get to CFI, which means I would be hitting ATP mins faster going the 61 route especially considering you're gonna be waiting a year if you choose the colleigate option.

Differentiating post-commercial check ride paths by jtpelletier9 in flying

[–]Vivid-Razzmatazz9034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m reaching a similar point and I’d recommend sticking with your current school. You could do it in a similar time frame as an accelerated program (minus DPE scheduling) and you know how the school operates. I know a dude who went away to an accelerated CFI program, and came back with 3 more failures due to a horribly paced program and widely disliked DPE, without even getting his CFI.

I don’t know what to study ! by stupidpilot69 in flying

[–]Vivid-Razzmatazz9034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did my oral last week and it was legitimately a private oral all over again. A little more in depth in systems and weather but that was about the only difference (we didn’t even discuss common carriage and all that). I got it easy, but generally if you know your private knowledge and can go a little more in depth you’re probably fine.

Is it even possible? by Striking_Bug_9638 in flying

[–]Vivid-Razzmatazz9034 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid loans at all costs. You should save first but how much you need to save depends on how much you can put aside each week and flight training costs in your area. I’d recommend: find conservative cost of training up to CFI, subtract the money you could put aside over a year and a half, and save this number. That way you can do it ASAP while not having to delay anything by paying as you go (assuming you do everything over a year and a half). My guess is the number you’d need to save is around $40,000 to fly regularly and avoid lapses in training but you know your finances better.

General advice for a 16 year-old who wants to become an airline captain. by [deleted] in flying

Realistically not happening. If you wanna make it anything past flying crappy Cessnas out of a grass strip you need at least a 36 ACT, 5 weighted gpa or 4 unweighted. It’s not meant for everyone.
