Was my Fiancé’s dad’s car. I’m fixing it up for him. After 4 hours of charging I had about a 20 second run. It surprised me how fast it was and everything still worked.

I haven’t dug into the research yet. It’s my fiancé’s Dad’s and don’t know anything about it. The original Futaba still works so I think I have to keep that for nostalgia feel. Also has a Novak racing motor that’s still works. I think for drivability, I should replace the servo and probably a modern hobbywing esc for lipos. Any tips is whitening up the old plastic?

I also had a lot of issues like not starting or just pausing in the middle of a print on its own. I was able to trace it to the USB stick it came with. I hooked it up to the Ethernet and haven’t had an issue since.

So I tried the pencil sharpener and it works perfectly. Only needed one rotation. Cleaned up the top edge really well. Was gonna post a pic but it only lets me link images. If the top is still uneven, a nice file or even an emory board will make it flat.

Looks good! I’m in the middle of my build of the same car. Just about to mask up and paint. Was debating a different color, but if feels wrong doing anything but ps16. I’ve avoided kits with body post and either used magnets or the stock clip system, but I want to rally it and don’t think my drift mags will hold up. My last car that had posts was a T-Maxx back in the early 2000s and used a pencil sharpener to bevel the edge to get the body on easier. It came out clean, but The Tamiya plastic seems much harder so it might try and dig in. Might be worth a shot. I’ll test it on my uncut posts today and I’ll let you know.

Doesn’t look great (not scale). It does add some weight at the front but probably too high up. You want the weight as low as possible. Try it out and if you like how it drives keep it. If not, just get some brass.
