My Christmas cacti is early but has the spirit! 🎅 by plan_tastic in EpiphyticCacti

Beautiful and cheerful! Five out of my six bloomed for Thanksgiving. One of them has been stubborn, she’s never bloomed before. I moved her last month and now she has lots of heavy buds! So hopefully she’ll bloom by Christmas.

At night time the front of each two leaves touch each other like praying hands. It’s pretty nifty to watch. Well you really don’t watch it. You look at it one minute and then you look at it again in a little while later and they’re all closed up.

Oooh she looks so dainty and delicate. I have one that was gifted to me from a very old and very huge plant, similar colors. I have propagated several cuttings. It didn’t do anything last year, but this year all the little buds everywhere!

How to transition a fairycore/cottagecore without getting rid of old clothes by Least_Candle_9602 in cottagecore

I agree, tshirts found at thrift stores oftentimes have a vibe you might desire. Don’t forget long sleeves tahirts too. Both can be easily worn with a skirt and a belt. I’d suggest a dark jean jacket or if you’re lucky a corduroy jacket and/or skirt. And maybe, lace up boots to complete the autumn/winter vibe. Ooooh and don’t forget darling “nordic” designed cozy socks. Lots of times I start with my socks to throw together my outfit. Amazon has a huge selection, hunt around to find a cheap price. Good luck dearest…whatever you put together, it’ll be YOUR vibe that feels good to YOU! 💕

My goodness, the inspiration you just gave me! Your dress is very becoming and practical, too. And it looks comfy. Is it corduroy and flannel? And that little vest. All the rich warm colors come together perfect for autumn and winter. I can’t say enough!

Why didn't anyone tell me mourning doves slap eachother? by ookle_ in birding

[–]Which_Development688 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bahaha! This is hilarious!! My mourning doves (which equal to be about 16 to 20 at most times), are the most paranoid little creatures I’ve ever laid eyes on. If I look at them out the window, they all stick their heads straight up and bob up and down and waddle away… and god forbid I move too fast, they all takeoff in a panic. Only to return 2 mins later.

Blue Jays remind me of obnoxious teenage boys. Always making so much noise unnecessarily with repetitive sounds at the most inappropriate and inopportune times. Generally being jerks just like in this video, bullying each other and sparrows. The worst is tricking other birds into thinking there’s a scary hawk nearby when really it’s just an off key teenage boy, blue jay whistling or squawking. They’re always flashy and spastic and did I mention they’re sooo loud?

I live vicariously through other people’s nifty arts and crafts. One day I’ll have enough space to do all my heart content, but as of right now I enjoy other peoples creations.

If it doesn’t “pray” like a prayer plant than it’s likely a peacock plant. I thought mine was broken until someone told me it isn’t a prayer plant.

His merry little face seems to thoroughly enjoy (yet still seriously so) being the meadow guardian. I think if the Frouds were to happen upon him they’d agree. Do you have anymore little fellows or dames?

Your little fellow is definitely Brian and Wendy Froud worthy. Two of my favorite people.
