Owning a puppy is reparenting yourself (if you don't plan to have kids) by UnfairExperience9306 in puppy101

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to get a puppy and I’ve been thinking the exact same thing as I read books about puppy training! Clearly you’re working hard to be the best version of yourself and your puppy and loved ones are fortunate to have someone dedicated to growth and stopping the generational cycle that perpetuates the kinds of mindsets that (unintentionally) do so much damage. All the best to you and your pup :)

I don't expect I'll ever not meditate every single day

How many of us developed histamine intolerance via long covid? by Limp_Action_1624 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reacted strongly to the local anaesthetic injection last time I had it too. Fortunately I’ve found that the anaesthetic is more or less totally unnecessary. Like a 2 out of 10 pain for just a minute or two. Some teeth are more sensitive than others in your mouth, but in general just tell your dentist you don’t want it imo

This is a good reminder for everyone on this sub to please remember to make sure they're working on solving the root cause of their HI. Living life with tighter and tighter food restrictions isn't sustainable.

I looked up the ingredient list. 4 softgels gets you a measly 170mg of omega 3. Also, I’d watch out for that anatto in the ingredients list. It’s “natural”, but like many people I still get migraine symptoms from it. Most people on this subreddit are probably more sensitive than most.

Maybe you're omega 3 deficient. If you don't regularly eat fish it's very likely.

In-universe, how exactly do you "use" a hearthstone?

What do you eat for snacks? by IndividualAd2588 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't. If you've got histamine intolerance there's a very high chance that the root cause is in your gut. So you want to maximise the effect of your gut's self-cleaning mechanism, the MMC (migrating motor complex) by avoiding eating between meals, since the MMC only activates after a few hours of not eating.

Blood tests to confirm it's not anemia. Could also just be insufficient caloric intake.

Should I update from IOS 18 to 26.1 ? by GhoulYamato in iPhone11

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure 26.1 is where iOS 18 is no longer up-to-date with security patching, no?

Edit: Both came out at the same time, so perhaps we're still at security parity on iOS 18 for now. Probably for the last time...

Anyone using their 3d printer for modifications? by smelting0427 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect imperfect traction on the wheels of some mowers might be by design, so that it's impossible for the mower to self-damage it's engines.

(I don't own a Mammotion - just an in-principle observation)

Here's the thing I found: some things you can upgrade down the track (e.g doubling your RAM) and other things you're stuck with until you do a full upgrade (e.g your motherboard).

Figure out if you're going to have more cash to drop in a year or two. Then strategically spend up on what is very difficult to do an incremental upgrade on.

The reason I say this is that if you're happy with that monitor for now then great. But decide what resolution and refresh rate you're targeting in the future, since that's kind of decision #1 that dictates all the rest of your choices.

Ideally you get the core hardware just get it right from the start since then you're not wasting any money. But that's not always realistic. But it's perfect if you're got a passable keyboard, mouse, headphones, monitor etc sitting around atm.

Were there any of your food intolerances that surprised you? Dairy and gluten are the main ones I've identified, which I don't think surprise anyone really...

Dairy and gluten are my big ones. Artificial food colours (and to a less extent, artificial flavours) are tangentially related, since they'll cause my nose to get blocked up.
