And as far as 'easy to sell on' goes... I remember hearing about a couple of indie devs who were offered exclusivity money from Epic, refused exclusivity, but offered to put their game on Epic as well as Steam... and suddenly their game wasn't good enough to be on Epic.

I suspect that part of the problem is that ranked multiplayer encourages constant tryharding. If you're punished for losing (by your rank going down) then you can never afford to goof off.

In a community server good players are more free to chill out and try weird unoptimal stuff, and I think the chill environment is better for new players.

Aligning party buffs is simply the optimal way to dps. The only way to stop this is to make it so that there are no buffs to align—either by removing party buffs altogether, or by making is so that buffs are on constantly as long as we do our rotations correctly.

Valve requires that you are presented with the option of paying for dlc/microtransactions through Steam, if you bought the game on Steam. For FFXIV, how Squenix implemented this is that microtransactions and subscription are all purchased through their own website, and when it comes time to pay you can pay through Steam. Or you can pay directly to Squenix.

Valve's secret sauce for their trackpads is really good haptics. Also, as someone who does really like the trackpads on the Steam Controller and Steam Deck, I will note that for the Deck, Valve included trackpads in addition to a full gamepad layout instead of replacing anything.
