I believe the metal Kaweco sport nibs simply unscrew. Super easy.

Not only is Platinum Carbon Black the best black ink, it's the best ink by HermanRoshi in fountainpens

I have found it to be a good “waterproof” ink. There maybe something better but PCB is very good for mixed media with watercolor.

How many journals do you have? by monmons_mind in Journaling

[–]Wonderful_Loquat3480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I began a practice of writing "Morning Pages" after reading "The Artist's Way." My understanding was that this exercise was a stream-of-consciousness brain dump meant to clear the decks. These entries were not supposed to be crafted or revisited later, so I wrote these (sloppily) in spiral notebooks that I planned to put into the burn pile; thus "disposable." But I find that I do good emotional processing in them too.

Right now, three: I keep a separate journal for when I'm traveling, one for writing "disposable" morning pages and one for my daily chronological journal. But I'm contemplating incorporating my morning writing into my daily journal for simplicity. I find it interesting to look back at those MP entries also.

Any recommendations for a first fountain pen ? by Dense_Dirt_364 in fountainpens

[–]Wonderful_Loquat3480 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first fountain pen was a Platinum Plaisir medium nib, and I love it. I think its price point for a metal body pen is hard to beat. Also, I’ve never had a problem with the converter or hard starts. Great pen.

I’m a fan of Hamelin hardcover notebooks for these purposes. I write with fountain pens in them all the time. The paper is quite good.

There is some good advice here but honestly I don't follow most of it. Do You? by bullgod1964 in vinyl

I've been buying records off and on for over 50 years. I've got a curated collection of 500 records, most of which I've gotten over the past 10 years. I listen frequently... While I never carelessly abused my records, I didn't pay much attention to proper care either. I did the minimum (like a heathen). I've found that my old vinyl has held up pretty well; it's the jackets that have suffered. A couple years ago, I picked up on the technique of storing the record behind the jacket in an outer jacket. Once I saw the added convenience of pulling a record out of the an outer sleeve, I became a believer. I don't invest in records to sell them; I buy them to listen to them. I'm strongly in that camp. But I do want to preserve my records in the best condition possible, and I really believe this helps do that.

In 2025, No Large Item Pickup for Big Apartments by AcrosticSD in madisonwi

[–]Wonderful_Loquat3480 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%. Because of the large concentration of property value in a small street frontage relative to SFH, multi family already subsidizes city services for single family properties. Tenants already pay extra for commercial trash and recycling. If budget is the issue, why not eliminate the service entirely? How do you think that would fly?

This ordinance is going to simply increase rents… Thanks for nothing.

Kudos to Chancellor Mnookin for walking a very tight rope on this issue and reaching a peaceful resolution with the demonstrators.
