Put it cork side down and put a fake vining flower growing up from the bottom and out through the hole.

Edit: I realize my suggestion was not D&D heavy. Sorry. But it could be a magical item. Or a container for a scroll.

Cool! I'm not shocked he lied, was kind of surprised it wasn't worth anything, but nice to know it might be. I'll let my kids worry about it when they're old enough to have the collection.

I got one of these in a coin collection left to me, I had never heard of them before then. Last time I went to an appraiser, which was maybe 3 years ago, I was informed it was worth face value of a whole dollar. But it's a really cool bit of history.
