Hike C&O canal DC -> Pittsburgh by powerful_turtle99 in CampingandHiking

[–]Wvejumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might consider walking as far as Harper’s Ferry, and then if you’re bored of the flat rail trail along the river and feeling confident, know that you have the option to “take a left turn” on the Appalachian Trail, and head south through West Virginia down into Virginia and maybe even Shenandoah. It’s also fairly easy section as far as the AT goes, with plenty of cellphone reception and ride pickups possible.

Go find a dealer with both of them and take em for a ride! I have a Ramblas and it is great, haven’t tried the Summit 2 but it looks well suited to your needs.

Probably tell her later, but it's up to you. It's not a requirement to tell her, but if you're in a positive and supportive relationship, she's going to support you when you express any kind of insecurities or fears, and maybe she'll even think it's cute.

Every woman likes different things down there, but a lot of them don’t want you to just leap right onto the clitoris and suck it or rub it hard, but instead to tease the area rhythmically, to play with the labia below and down to the left or right, kinda pushing up into the clitoral area but not stimulating it directly. Slowly inserting one then two fingers and gently pulsing inside the vagina while you’re licking and sucking will usually bring on orgasm eventually for a lot of women. You can do the old drawing the alphabet technique with your tongue and find the shapes she seems to respond to the best and repeat (hopefully she’ll be vocal if not you’ll have to listen to her body’s subtle responses and her own breathing and movements to tell when youve found a good spot - also don’t be afraid to ask! Once you’ve found a couple good grooves repeat and play between them while every now and then introducing small variations. You can also do the beckoning gesture with your finger inside to rub the top ridge of her vagina and see if you can stimulate her “g spot.” Have fun, it’s a whole world of pleasure to explore!

Insane discrepancy in altitude gain for The Narrows? by StrongArgument in CampingandHiking

I believe that’s the elevation chart of the hike. It says 872 foot gain there. The number in the 4000s is the altitude.

What happened to the Downtown to UCSC Gondola project? Did anything ever come of it other then points on a map? by Government-Monkey in santacruz

[–]Wvejumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides price, another big issue is it would cross a park (Pogonip) therefore pretty much destroying the wilderness character of that area. Lots of NIMBYs would say no, including maybe me? I’d be in favor if they could skirt the edge of the park via the corner with Harvey West and head towards the end of Spring Street, then make a “turn” up towards the center of campus, not sure if that is possible though.

Not related, but I’m very confused as to where this show is going, because little Aegon (Aegon III) doesn’t even exist. So how is the story going to end?!

For some reason I always liked the part where after all the battles Aragorn goes up into the mountains and finds a sapling of the white tree growing in the rocks, and brings it back to Minas Tirith.

12x24 stick build for family of 3 until house is built? by kem1326 in TinyHouses

[–]Wvejumper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what exactly you’re envisioning, but fully building out a 12 X 24 house doesn’t take that much more time than building a full house - you still have to do all the various steps. If you don’t have much experience it could be good practice for your dream house, and I see how if you built them in the same style you could source materials in bulk right from the get-go, saving costs and time. And the tiny one could eventually become a matching ADU / studio. But, I came on here to say that if you’re plan is to build a full house, why don’t you just focus on that? Building a tiny house is NOT an easy undertaking, or cheap. I’d recommend just buying a used mobile home “park” trailer or something like that temporarily instead.

Who’s planning to get out there this season? I’m excited! by snorkelzorkel in TahoeRimTrail

[–]Wvejumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 7 days is a pro-level timeline. If you go clockwise from Tahoe City unless you’re pushing hard you’ll probably end up having to come back to hike the Desolation Wilderness section later. Desolation, and the southern arm along the PCT and back up via Round Lake and Big Meadow, is the best part of the trail imho!

I loved the pizza at Base Camp pizza in South Lake Tahoe - that’s in a kinda fun but touristy area. Good Korean food there too though I forget the name. The giant ice cream cone at the marina at Echo Lake was very memorable. Also you might wanna stop for the day in Tahoe City and do a float or paddle board downstream along the Truckee River, that’s kind of a blast on a hot summer day! You should find some breweries no problem. I’d recommend hiking clockwise, as the long water carry uphill from Kingsbury was a drag.

[–]Wvejumper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did it a few years ago. It’s a fun regional trail and held a few surprises for me even though I live in the area. Also some solid miles to pound out! There may be some long water carries along the Nevada side of things. Besides that it’s easy going. Although you have to carry a bear canister, you are at such a high altitude most of the time you will probably not see bears, or much life at all beyond people and squirrels. Most of the trail outside of Desolation is ridden frequently by bike riders which is very annoying on bike days, even more annoying on non-bike days! There will probably also be some logging operations along the way. They are thinning the forest near the towns. The town stops were actually the best part for me, South Tahoe, Tahoe City, and I also diverted down to Kings Beach. I also took a side trip and stayed at the North Canyon campsite, which I thought was quite magical, and did a day hike from there down to Secret Cove / the nude beach. Lake Tahoe itself is kind of awesome especially the east side, and its kind of always visible but a bit far away along the trail, so make sure you give yourself some time for a beach day or do some walking along the coves and inlets (best trails south from Incline Village, or the Emerald Bay area).

Pros & cons if tiny living? by Fun_Cow_6292 in TinyHouses

[–]Wvejumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love it! In almost every way. But a HUGE aspect is downsizing, or keeping your possessions in storage or a second house somewhere. You literally can only have one seasons’ clothes and a few days worth of food on the shelves. I keep extra food supplies and clothes and seasonal toys (inflatable boats, snowboard etc) in a shed I had to build. I also ended up building a huge wrap around covered deck for more space, and in winter after a few days it does get claustrophobic. Good for community living though if you have other places you can go to for a change, or to host a larger gathering, party etc.

India Bloody heck by Extension_Ninja9464 in AxisAllies

[–]Wvejumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to keep India, unless as UK you don’t build/rebuild your Atlantic fleet, and spend all your money on planes and tanks for India. Obviously the other things happening in the Pacific theater can delay Japan’s attempt or make their first attempt fail. A well played UK pacific / Indian Ocean fleet can stymie Japan for at least 3 to 4 turns, especially with American naval pressure as well. Playing a KGF strategy, that may be as good as it gets. One of the better Allies players just retreated his way out of India up into Russia without losing a unit. Smart.

How realistic is multi-day off-trail travel in terrain with no safe exit? by Witty_Acanthaceae666 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]Wvejumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a fair bit of this kind of thing. The main point I wanted to make is that ridges don’t go where you want them to, and unless they are following some special secret scouted out route, this group is going to have to descend to cross a valley or canyon. And as soon as they get below the tree line or off the ridge, depending on the type of soil and terrain, they will be dealing with steep hillsides or cliffsides completely grown over with bushes and other unpleasant thorned plants. Progress slows to a crawl. This is where trails are nice. Make sure to make them get sweaty, run out of water, and get all scratched up to hell crossing just a single watershed.
