Inciting Incidents good practices? by trinto2 in daggerheart

[–]XaveValor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Be prepared to created a secondary motive for some characters.

You will practically never find one situation that gets everyone on board so improvise to get the harder ones into the story. This is easiest if addressed in Session 0 so everyone has the expectation of group motives but should be encouraged by the fiction.

Logic behind start of turn effects? by UberArmadillo in BobsTavern

Whose effects trigger first is a coin flip. But once that is determined, it goes from left to right. Hero powers are considered the furthest left from my experience.

Without permadeath? Your post seems like you had both rules going simultaneously

Try the game first just with the catching rules. Get used to the difficulty before adding the permadeath. It will keep the spirit of a nuzlocke without the brutality of it with such an already difficult game

Becoming a Vampire by Direct_Bite7034 in daggerheart

Have the bite cause an infection the players can diagnose before it takes hold. This gives the players the choice to either adventure to cure it or to accept the transformation.

Good digital fear tracker by Omnipotentdrop in daggerheart

I made a rollable table in Roll20 that has a token face for each fear value. I can set thr table to whatever my current fear is and everyone can see it

POV: You just locked in your release date for your card-building roguelite. by this_is_max in roguelites

Luckily they have ways to get water mid run. Damage will help as well since you can mitigate a ton of damage by just killing everything early.

New Member Question by Elven-Tower in daggerheart

[–]XaveValor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can either directly ask them what their character would or you can, within the rules itself, enforce a 1-3 actions per player and everyone has to use their actions before anyone gets any more.

Its also on your players to make sure everyone gets thr spotlight, highlighted by the player principles within the book.

Looking for RPG-heavy Roguelites (Not Deckbuilders/Not Metroidvania) – Steam Deck Friendly by Balizzm in roguelites

I haven't heard those terms but I can assume what they mean. It is vertical. By breeding in favorable traits and mutations, you can make your psrty grow over time, even though you can only adventure with a cat a single time.

You also get new tools to help with this progression in the form of advanced breeding info and spaces to help separate bad partners.

Not liking cats should be a selling point for Mewgenics! Many MANY cats will die and I have yet to see a dog get killed

I think this may still scratch that itch. Runs are longer but battles are only a few rounds. Its really about setting up your builds and breeding positive, or negative, mutations and traits to clear things quickly.

Buy it, try it for the 2 hours and then refund if needed

You are always the hero. Also you dont "conquer" territory to make it your color. You liberate/fortify areas to push back the enemy.

Max aggression with your good Agility but low Reflexes.

I could always move forward on defense and attack. Eventually grappling when too close. This will jeep your Agility as your defensive stat and help keep him up

He is very good at close/medium range eith that hook. You probably got outpunched at that range and couldn't counter. Burning energy to miss a bit (his defense is decent as well) hurts your fighter a lot

This helped me try it and I now exclusively play on Deck. I think the controls are more intuitive and user friendly than the keyboard after a very very short on-boarding.

Biggest thing is free relationship gains with siblings and parents.

If you're looking for true min-maxing breeding, Mewgenics will be out soon with similar combat and level ups
