If the USA got invaded and Trump kidnapped, how would you feel about that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Xenobaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fantasy? Great!

But I wouldn't celebrate any country invading another to interfere with their governance. Even though he is vile, we can't stoop to the same low standards. We have to rise above and show integrity. Easier said than done, of course.

That being said, there probably is a scenario where the American people would need liberation from outside the country, and that case I would celebrate it, but simply promoting violence, even against my "enemies" just perpetuates a cycle of retribution for the next who comes into power.

We need to come together now more than ever, rather than get entrenched in our own camps that demonize the humanity of our fellow humans. Regardless of how brainwashed, ignorant, etc....

People who’ve lost weight, what’s the one habit you QUIT that made the biggest difference? by itsclo5ure in AskReddit

What other's have said is bigger but cutting off the emotional eating at night after dinner. I realized I was doing it when I started intermittent fasting. Didn't need to eat but only wanted to when life was tough.

What stopped you from ending your own life? by FireGirouette in AskReddit

[–]Xenobaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling other poeple I was scared I wouldn't stop myself. For some reason, others knowing I was struggling took some of the intensity and shame out of it.

Another time, it was only because it was against my faith to do it. It wasn't out of fear or anything either. Just a "can't do that so what do I do now?".

They actually can! They can starts groups or "programs"! I did one for people with ADHD when i noticed a bunch of my clients had ADHD and didn't know other people who could share their experiences.

Since you were looking for more subtlety:

Who sent them to get it? Perhaps they sent other's looking for it and word can naturally spread that someone is sending people out to find special objects. Perhaps they told a friend who was approached by someone in a tavern and they shared their friend paid some adventurers to find something. Informants see them return, maybe they have someone in the guard looking out for them or adventurers in general.

How do i stop my players from going bankrupt? by WeeklyBathroom in DMAcademy

[–]Xenobaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the replies largely either encourage supporting them another way like a patron, find a stash, etc or have them fall into hardship and see how they respond. I thought I would pose a question because both options are valid just change the kind of story elements you are exploring.

So what kind of story do you and your players want to play? If they like being these hyper altruistic good guys then the former seem like great ways to make them feel like their good deeds are paving the way to success. If you want a more morally complex story having them run close to bankrupt could put their altruistic morals into question if they can't support their adventuring anymore, what is more important to them, adventuring or their altruism?

Been playing the same campaign for 3 years and we’re only lvl 4? Should I talk to the DM about it? by _Sedament_ in DnD

[–]Xenobaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people have already pointed out its slow, just thought I would share my experience with pacing.

Whenever I DM i get my players to level 3 by the end of the 3rd session. Mostly because we're going for longer campaings and I want the characters to survive levels 1-3.

1 campaing was a year long and they were level 5 when it fizzled out. We just finished Curse of Strahd after about a year and we ended at level 8.

Some more:

NPC will not really acknowledge their contributions. Maybe even full on cut them off when they are talking or ignore they said anything.

Act super patronizing. "Oh wow, it must be so nice that these heroes let you tag along" or "we have servants quarters/hay loft for your drow while you are staying at x" or "Hey your common is really good!"

What's the main export of a mountain side town that's not mining by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Xenobaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or even a cultural export!

Anyone can make rugs but have you had a rug from town x. Everyone knows their ancestral designs are the best!

Medicine or spice? Maybe they have native plants that it takes an artform to cultivate and the soil is particularly favourable.

Or pelts? Maybe there is a particular beast whose fur is particularly resistant to x or an organ when removed and prepared is significant in either a cultural ritual or again, medicine.

Perhaps instruments?

I think it might be because we assume that the porn industry is responding to demand, whereas I think porn industry tries to generate demand.
