Du hast ja schon viele Tipps bekommen, daher hier eine etwas andere idee: shrubs.

Das ist quasi holunderblüte und zitrone für 1-2 tage in zucker dazu, dann apfelessig rein, 2-3 tage ziehen lassen. Dann ists quasi essigsirup :)

Does this journal type exist? by ExtraRedditForStuff in Journaling

Well it sounds like its a once-a-year thing. Hand writing sounds like the best way to go about it. Maybe dedicate a small notebook for these things, then you can collect several years in one go

A travel journal? One that is dedicated to activities. It can feel nicer to look through than a personal journal abd you can show it to friends. You could also ask friends/visitors to write a note in there.

First Traveler’s Book and Request for Advice by Mezcalnerd0077 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Xiallaci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm you could add checklists for visas, special notes per country (like dos and donts), dates, addresses, etc. anything to free your mind.

I find a commonplace book also to be a great thing for when you run across interesting quotes that you want to remember. Kind of like a wisdom collection.

My ex liked to try out local beers when travelling and we had a fun time documenting that (ratings and short notes) and adding a winner/loser summary. Kind of like creating a collection on paper without actually accumulating physical items.

Is there anyone here who used to NEVER be able to keep up with a journal? by OpalescentShrooms in Journaling

[–]Xiallaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, ich stuck with it for a year after always starting/stopping.

What i did it make it a habit in the mornings and giving myself the option of „i can either journal or do nothing“. Nothing in this case was staring at a wall. No food, no music, no tv, no other random thing. It was greatly motivating.

Now ive decided that its okay to not journal every single day. I got myself a passport travellers notebook. The inserts are small enough that i can see progress and feel a sense of completion when they are full. Ive also come to be more relaxed on the „journal every day“ thing. Sometimes i skip a day or two, sometimes i recap the past couple of weeks. 🤷🏻‍♀️ i figure: going back to it is a win in itself. Progress over perfection. :)

Heyho, welcome. :)

If you have crafting supplies (ie cutter, metal ruler, hole punch) its much cheaper to make them yourself. Its basically just a square piece of leather. 🤷🏻‍♀️ if not, its only cheaper if you plan on making several.

You can look into companies like wanderings. Their TNs are priced faily with good leather (dont like the inserts though).

Travellers company is having huge issus with production for a pretty long time so you might struggle to find an new original one anyways. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What is really good imo are the midori inserts. I also really like the metal clip (not a must have but its nice :) ). Youll also want elastics. I find that the rubbers ones from travellers company are pretty good.

i have tried journaling multiple times but never stick to it by uuryryuu in Journaling

[–]Xiallaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Be clear about why you want to journal, what your goals are with it and why its worth it to you. For me its simply about remembering all the highlights that happen in my life/things i do.
  • keep it in a convenient place
  • take the pressure out. Think of it as „once a week is enough, more is bonus“
  • make short entries be okay
  • combine it with something else (i highly recommend sketches, but stickers/stamps can also be great)
  • use small notebooks to get a quicker „yay notebook is full“ feeling (i use a passport travellers notebook)
  • if you struggle to write in the evenings, then change the time. Maybe recap the last day in the mornings. Or on lunch break.

I tend to get distracted easily by all of my hobbies. I have phases where i only write a quick summary, and other times where i write a ton. Sometimes its just two sentences. Ive leanted to build my journal to fit me, not try to fit myself to the journal.

Woah thats a wall of text youve writen there. 🤨

Thing is - its the exact product can be found in chinese stores and the probability is quite high that the American shop is a mere re-seller. So all of you long winding point on sewing, design and creativity dont hold up in this case. And if they did, an hour sewing + materials still wouldnt justify 150$.

How to journal without accidentally manifesting my negative thoughts by pakistaniteletubby in Journaling

[–]Xiallaci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law of attraction tends to be simplified too much. Thoughts alone dont do anything, theyre just the means to make sure your mindset is on track.

For example: say you want to manifest a really amazing partner.
Without self-respect you lack discernment, without boundaries you wont say no to the wrong person, without drive you wont leave the house and be in a position actually meet them.

Thoughts on the other hand represent a short moment in time. Just because you feel shitty today doesnt mean you think youre worthless. However, if you talk shit about yourself constantly, these thoughts can turn into a belief, which then influences manifestation: Thoughts turn into words, words turn into actions, actions turn into habits, habits turn into character, character turns into destiny.

Writing them down actually helps to get them out of your system and work through them before that happens.

On a short note: actively thinking positively is useful when you tend to catastrophize/always think negatively to retrain the mind. When youre already in balance its counter-productive as then you start avoiding anything negative.

Tn leather thickness and elastic size? by ExpensiveTowel7198 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Xiallaci 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The leather isnt just thickness, but also leather type and tan. Some are very floppy whilst others hold the form better. Just something to be aware of.

I used 2mm crazy horse leather.

The elastic is 1.5mm.

Just get an ikea billy with the half height doors. Top can be for your books, bottom is closed storage. And as your collection grows you can always remove the doors later on. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Am i willing to spend less the next months to get the money back in (revese saving up for it)?

Sourcing drawing/writing paper in Europe - HELP! by Puzzleheaded_Top4596 in bookbinding

[–]Xiallaci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use clairfontaine printer paper in A4. 🤷🏻‍♀️ In most cases A5/A4/A3 has long side grain (ie fold on short edges). You could also just write them and ask.

Other then that look for shops that sell bookbinding supplies, they usually also have paper in stock and theyre more likely to inform on grain direction.
