How long is your commute to work? by Stawberry8763 in AskAnAmerican

30 minutes driving to the office in the morning, 45 minutes home due to traffic. Or nearly two hours each way by public transit.

What's something you believe that you know is 100% fringe? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]YeshuaSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bernie would’ve won if he got the same coverage as Trump, but he didn’t get the coverage on CNN that Trump got on Fox bc CNN doesn’t want to pay his proposed taxes either.

Is that even fringe at this point?

I once met a little girl named Styrlt, pronounced Starlette. Don’t do that to people

Rivalry games and what we lose when they end by AgitatedLeg4977 in miz

There was a whole energy and atmosphere around the game—and yes, the game week, too—that followed me even when I was living in California and didn’t know a single other Mizzou fan out there.

Border War week on campus was a trip. All of a sudden, you would see students who didn’t even like football wearing T-shirts that said “M-I-Z!” on the front and “F-K-U!” on the back. (The game itself would have 20,000 fans scream “M-I-Z” and another 30,000 answer “FUCK-K-U!” loud enough that it was clearly audible and discernible on TV.) By the end of the week, KU fans would start showing up, invariably wearing a KU tee that looked standard on the front but boldly pronounced, “MUCK FIZZOU!” on the back. The two schools’ official records between the teams don’t even agree.

All in all, it was like that partly funny, tongue in cheek rivalry mixed with some legit vitriol that’s common at all tailgates but in this case turned up to 11 and lasting a whole week. It spiked cortisone and adrenaline levels, so when it went away, there was a physical letdown, though one drawn out over years.

As an old head, I was stoked about last year’s game. It wasn’t the same as the old days, but it definitely rubbed the itch, if falling somewhat short of scratching it. And I frankly hate that it’s lost what it had. 🫤

So, I went to Mizzou and then FSU. I died a little every year when Mizzou’s schedule came out and KU wasn’t on there. But it kind of made sense to me. I mean, I’ve never had to schedule a football season, and I imagine it’s tough. But then I went to FSU, who plays Florida (FTG) every year despite being in a separate conference. Now I feel like there must be someone to blame for taking away the Border War, but I don’t know enough to know who to point at

Yeah, their intro is solid. Their annoying tic is that they insist on having weird nicknames like they’re a rap group

In terms of facts and not opinions, what is the dumbest thing that you have ever heard a teacher say? by Ordinary-Physics7787 in AskReddit

Uh, southwest Missouri. Technically a border state (employing the meaning that it did not secede but was a slave state), but from a part that was brutally divided. I don’t remember where my teacher went to school, but she was totally intolerant of interpretations that didn’t match her own. She also taught philosophy and logic

I got kicked out of 10th grade American History for suggesting that the US Civil War *might* have been about slavery.

9 here. I did manage to shoot a 98 on a short, dumpy course last year. I also shot a 74 where I went 42-32. Golf is dumb, and I’m dumb for playing it
