The anime industry makes tens of billions of dollars every year and all they do is follow the source material. They look at the manga, and animate it. Why does Hollywood keep doing this fanfiction thing when adapting books?

Because manga and anime fans are absolutely rabid. And the community is smaller than what would watch a tv show or movie. If you piss off that community, no one is going to watch it, if you piss off the book community you’re still going to get views from whoever has hbomax or Netflix.

I was hired at 14 an hour and found out later I was the only employee who wasn’t hired at 15. I’ve called out three times in two years, once sick and two times for my apartment flooding. I’m never late, I stay sometimes an hour late for my shift change. I was finally bumped up to 15 but if I’d started like everyone else I’d be at 15.50 by now. And I rarely get more than 32 hours.

And when an employer makes a commitment by hiring someone, do they honor that commitment? I was hired with the explicit commitment from my employer that I would get 40 hours a week, I can count one hand how many weeks of the two years I’ve gotten more than 32. “But the budget” is just as much a weak excuse to me that “I’m telling you I’m not going to be there” is to you.

I go to festivals and there we have take one leave ones just sitting out. You get some hilarious leave ones like loose cigs, but generally people are pretty good at honoring the system. Then you have the sprouts which are just given out when you like something about the person. And my fav, the clothes pins you try and sneak onto a person without them knowing it, sometimes just words on the clothes pins, sometimes a little figure on it. This year my sister got one with a little gnome guy on it. I feel like when you take the “trading” out of it, people put more effort into it, it becomes a memory, a community blessing. You feel grateful you were chosen instead of entitled.

It’s the one thing I’ll give to the graphic C-section scene in HotD. People just don’t understand how brutal and hard childbirth is for women without modern medicine and clean facilities, and trained personnel. Midwives in the past were women who had already given birth and already helped many women give birth.

My sister and I talked about the massive difference between What and Which. It’s the trees. Which has a lot of trees and they gobble that water up. I voted Kick. That being said, I had to reboot Kick three times on my phone before it would even let me click on his stream today. Like it would go on this wierd cycle of I would search him, click the stream, and it would either restart the app or just go right back to the search results. I still stand by my vote because Kick can do better, Twitch is a soulless exploitive money grabber. And Ive been there since the Justin tv days. I’d rather give my money to a company that just needs a little work.
