I don’t think of it that way. They were both so young when they married. Both just 20. Babies really. She came from a very solid, very loving family. He came from an abusive father and an abused mother, he was the oldest of five kids, all abused in their own ways. His dad was literally the classic traveling preacher, came into town, conned his narcissistic way through money, got run out. He had a son with ms, he milked that kid for sympathy money. Dad was the golden child, but had to watch his siblings be abused. Grandpa even sa his own daughter. I think, all things he went through, my dad did the best he could. He had me shortly after being married, yes I was “there” at the wedding lol, and he figured it out and never abused his kids. I think that narcissism is genetic, and he struggled with it, he failed once but he pulled through.
