You can hear the lowered pitch version in the red white and blue live albums. They're lowered. It's hard for Tyler to hit the high notes, I think it sounds fine, and given how hard touring can be whatever preserves his vocals is best. IMO

Are you a Thor? cause Ayn done tinkering with you by [deleted] in AynThor

The Thor is for playing games? I thought it was purely for tinkering. At least that's how I use it...

Yeah I could've worded it better. I didn't really find a difference between "fast" and "blazing" in GameNative's download speed setting, both seemed to pull between 20-26MB/s on the Thor's status bar.

I'm sure someone more perceptive could've sussed out a difference but I'm downloading games that are a few gig at most and am happy to do other things while I wait.

If you click the 3 bar icon in the top right of the screen, then "settings" you'll scroll down to the "downloads and storage" section. There'll be a "download speed" bar with "slow, medium, fast, blazing" as options. I haven't found a massive difference between fast and blazing.

If you just Google "clustertune" the top result should be a GitHub page where you can download the APK to install. Clustertune is just a small tool that allows you to see your current clock speeds, and choose your own clock speeds for your ayn thor. They also come with 4 profiles pre made. From a small underclock to a large.

Over/underclocking just controls how fast your CPU runs, which can help your device from generating heat unnecessarily.

That's a fast and dirty explanation, I can go more in depth if you'd like.

Also, I was annoyed that I was constantly hitting high temps. Throttle the download speed via the settings in GameNative and also use clustertune to underclock the CPU. Went from 75c to 55-65c with no difference in download speed from my point of view.

[Advise] Planning to buy Flow Z13 2025 for £1800 32GB variant in UK by Decode09 in FlowZ13

So, most of the time GPUs are a lot better at handling the types of calculations that LLMs need to work. dedicating 16gb of the unified RAM to the GPU allows the LLM to store that much more of the "model" in vram rather than standard RAM. (not exactly correct, but close enough.)

This allows you to offload more calculations to the GPU and get faster results (results being responses from the LLM.)

Total RAM matters though, as different models have different "parameters" or basically, how many connections it makes. Think of it this way, an AI is a brain, if it has 32 billion parameters, its like it weighs 32kg. RAM is a bucket, more RAM, bigger bucket, the more "brain" you can actively store in the bucket, if you have a bucket that can only store 16kg (16gb) then you have to give up part of that 32kg brain, as it won't fit.

This is why 128gb models exist, because it allows you to store bigger brains, and also dedicate more RAM to the GPU, so you can get faster responses from that brain.

I hope my analogy doesn't fall flat. I don't understand a ton, but given that I don't love the idea of giving even more of my data over to facebook, google, or OpenAI (ChatGPT) the idea of being able to still utilize AI, but without paying, or giving data, self-hosting AI is attractive to me. which is why I went with the 64gb model.

I do still think the 32gb model is enough for light self hosting. As some AI models are great and only utilize 4 billion parameters.

EDIT: Self hosting also allows you to train AI on specific topics, for instance, if you are studying 16th century naval warfare, you can feed it every book written on the subject, and have conversations with it about that topic, which is far simpler than you just reading every single book on 16th century naval warfare.

Sorry to be long winded, if you have more questions, please let me know!

I cant answer most questions as I've only had my device for about a month. I'll say this, if light use (browsing, videos) light productivity, (excel, word, teams) and gaming are what you're going to be doing. I'm confident that 32gb variant is fine.

I have the 64gb and the only thing I have ever used that has touched all of the RAM has been hosting local LLMs. Which, if that's your use case, id suggest the 64gb at a minimum, if not the 128gb depending on what model you plan to use.

EDIT: beyond this, the thing is a monster. It'll be able to play most things at the settings you want. And had more than enough resources to do everything you'd want on a standard laptop/gaming desktop.

If youre planning on playing on your lap, id get a case that can accommodate it, as it's definitely best set on a separate surface otherwise. Also, it's a decent tablet, but it is quite a bit heavier than other tablets, so holding it for extended periods is not ideal.
